According to CrimeMap.com, the incident of crime over the past two weeks has been relatively low compared to other neighborhoods. However, the same site reported a disturbing trend in the Dogpatch neighborhood. There were 2 incidents in October where 2 cars were stolen from the same location. Even stranger, almost all of the vehicle thefts in DogPatch are occurring during the day.
The most recent double vehicle theft happened at 3rd and 22nd. One occurred at 1 PM and the other at 5 PM on October 28th. The day before, an assault happened on that same block at 10 PM. The area is currently a hot spot of crime. A week before on October 21, a car was stolen up the block at 20th and 3rd at 9 AM. On October 25th, another vehicle was stolen from 22nd and Indiana at 1 PM.
The 300 block of 20th street, next to the water front, is the other hot spot of vehicle theft. Again, two vehicles were stolen in the same day. On October 4th, the two vehicles were reported stolen at 12 PM and 2PM. A third vehicle was later stolen from that location on October 10 at 9 AM. There have been 6 vehicles stolen from 20th at the water front during the day over the past 2 months.
