Many of us want to lose weight. However, many of us also led busy lives. Work, family, and responsibilities keep us busy. Our busy lives keep us from exercising as much as we need and want to exercise. Busy lives cause us to eat foods we shouldn’t be eating. However, some simple short cuts can help us begin the process of losing weight.
Recently, Dr. Oz, the popular host of the television show, Dr. Oz, and a real practicing physician shared with his audience some simple short cuts that they could make in their lives that would take a less than a minute for them to do. Over time, these shortcuts could help them begin to lose weight. They included:
Eating a large Apple before lunch every day
A Penn State University did a study that proved that if one could eat a large apple about 15 minutes before eating lunch, that person will generally eat 187 fewer calories during lunch that day. The reason is that the apple contains fiber, which is filling.
If one can do this daily for a year, one can easily loose up to 5 pounds.
Refrigerate canned goods
Place your canned foods into your refrigerator. Allow them time to get cold. Then open one. You will find a layer of fat on top. This is fat that you can easily scrap from the food and keep from eating. If you do this with all your canned food items, you can loose up to 6 pound in one year.
Dilute your juices
Yes, juices such as cranberry juices are great for you. However, many of these juices also contain a lot of sugar. For this reason, you can dilute them and save you some calories. Just pour in half the amount of juice you would normally drink and finish filling the glass up with some seltzer.
This could save you 13 pounds a year.
Fake a carbohydrate
If you are a pasta or potato lover you could try switching your pasta or potatoes with a vegetable once in a while. You could try switching your mashed potatoes with cauliflower and your spaghetti with spaghetti squash.
This could save you 12 pounds a year.
Replace oils with applesauce
When you bake, you should replace the oils you were going to use with half applesauce. The food will still taste good.
In a year, you may be able to lose 6 pounds
Commit to exercise with a friend
If you make a real commitment with a friend to workout, you can actually lose weight. A friend can inspire you and help you stick with your goals better than if you do it alone.
If you continue to workout with a friend for a year, you can lose up to 13 pounds easy.
