Katy Perry Start New Dress Standards on “Sesame Street”?
Katy Perry joined Elmo in the song, “Hot N Cold” for a clip seen on You Tube that previewed her guest appearance on “Sesame Street.” Does this mean dress standards will be enforced for celebrities to abide by? “Sesame Street” is now dealing with a whole lot more than ABC’s and 123’s for its preschool age viewers. The show has a new priority to add on their list of things to do. Will strict standards of dress be in the works for the show?
When “Sesame Street” began syndication 41 years ago, the thought of appropriate attire on the show was the last thing worry on the minds of creators.
While Katy Perry’s appearance with Elmo won’t be on television, her video of the clip can still be seen on You Tube, which has gained over a million views since the publicity.
Pulling Perry from “Sesame Street” Makes Statement
A “Sesame Street” spokesperson responded to pulling Katy Perry from the show:
“In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on You Tube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers.”
You can imagine the next celebrity up for a guest spot on “Sesame Street” have strict standards of dress to be on the show.
