Now, for those of you that are Droid X users, here are a few Droid X tips and tricks.
In an earlier article, I spoke about Swype Technology. The Droid X offers this technology, but as a default the Swype keyboard is turned off. To learn the Swype technology, click the link above to read the article.
To turn on the Swype keyboard, follow these instructions.
Scroll to “Settings” in the application launcher and select “Language & Keyboard.” Choose the “Text input” option and select “Swype.”
Now begin practicing and you may even have a hard time using a regular keyboard when you need to.
NOTE: If you need or want to turn off the Swype keyboard, follow the above steps and select “Multi-touch keyboard.” This will return the Droid X to the regular keyboard.
To edit text, hold your finger over the area and a magnifying glass will appear. This will help you place the cursor exactly where you want it.
Voice Command menu
On the Home screen, double-tap the Home button to receive an audible Droid-prompted Voice Command menu.
To insert a special character, press the “ALT” key, then the “Symbols” key.
Delete lines of text
To delete an entire line of text, press the “ALT” key + “Delete.”
These are just a few Droid X tips and tricks to get you started. Enjoy the touch screen and the swype technology!
