For young children, Christmas time is a magical and wondrous time of year! Kids love to create! They feel a sense of pride and accomplishment when they make something on their own. A wonderful craft for kids to enjoy is to make a Christmas decoration. Watch their faces light up when they give a finished craft to a family member or teacher or friend. And a decoration also makes a great Christmas present. So give the following easy Christmas decoration a try and perhaps start a tradition that your children will one day pass on to their children!
Easy Craft Stick Reindeer
Your kids will enjoy making these easy craft stick reindeer which can be used as ornaments or gifts! Imagine how proud they will feel when they see the results of their work hanging on the Christmas tree! These cute little ornaments can be finished and ready to hang in just a few minutes. What you will need for each Christmas craft decoration is as follows: 3 wooden craft sticks (the kind that look like popsicle sticks), 1 brown magic marker, 1 red pompom, 2 plastic craft eyes, glue, and string.
Have the kids start by coloring 3 craft sticks with brown magic markers. What the reindeer face will look like when it’s finished is an upside down A. Having either a sample or a picture of what the Christmas decoration is supposed to look like will help the kids a lot. Using 2 craft sticks, arrange them to form a V, then glue the ends together to hold this shape. Cross the center of the V horizontally with the third craft stick and glue it into place. What you have now looks like an upside down A. Next, glue the red pompom to the point for a nose. Then glue the eyes on. Tie some string to the top stick and your Christmas reindeer decoration is ready to hang! Or ready to give as a gift! Or ready to tie onto a present! This truly is an easy Christmas craft decoration that kids will delight in making!
