Halloween ghosts and goblins are about to embark on our streets. Joining them to blend in should not be a problem. Halloween costumes can be a specific character or just a costume. You can be anything for a night. Instead of purchasing a costume that is already made, you can design your own costume. Here are a few easy costumes without much sewing involved.
Hannah Montana – Any clothes will work for this. You can wear jeans, a tee-shirt, and a zip up jacket. If you have blond hair your costume is done. If not, either purchase a wig or temporary hair dye. This is one of the easiest costumes available.
The Jonas Brothers – Choose a Jonas brother to dress as. These are easy because you probably already have the clothes in your closet. Add a pair of sunglasses to your ensemble. Be sure to do your hair or buy a wig and you are a Jonas brother.
Toga – Step into ancient times. You can easily make a toga. Clothing underneath would be greatly appreciated by others but not a necessity. You can use any solid color sheet and pin it around the shoulders. Throw a rope around the waist as a belt. You are now dressed for the party.
Princess – Most little girls have a dress that they love. If you have a dress, just throw lace around it and instantly your little girl becomes a princess. If you do not have a special dress you can use the toga idea with nice material and pin it together at the waist and shoulders. You can then put lace around the “dress”. Try this several times before Halloween night to find the desired effect.
White tiger – For a little different outfit, you might want to try a white tiger. Take white sweats and make black stripes on the back of the shirt, the arms, and put stripes on the legs. The tiger’s underneath is white. You can draw a black nose and whiskers on the face with mascara or children’s face paint. You are now an animal!
Here are a couple classic easy to make costumes. Who can resist a ghost? Of course, a hobo is also a great choice.
Ghost – Depending on the height of the person dressing as a ghost, a pillow case will usually suffice. If not use an old sheet. The sheet can be pinned loosely so it will stay in place and the ghost can still move its fluttering self. Cut holes for the eyes and possibly mouth if your little one feels stifled in a pillow case.
Hobo – Hobo is an easy costume to make. Almost everyone has old jeans in their closet or dresser. Write on the jeans and cut holes in them. Put your oldest pair of sneakers on. Hopefully, the sneakers are dirty and falling apart. If not, they will look fine. Wear your oldest, most raggedy looking shirt. Tear the sleeves, write on it, cut holes in it. Maybe even slit the shirt. You are looking like a hobo.
