Fresh natural food that hasn’t been processed is sold right in your local grocery store. Eating fresh food with only one ingredient will help you lose weight, look and feel better.
The other day I saw a co-worker walking down the hallway, and it appeared that he had lost a lot of weight. This co-worker was in his late forty’s and always chubby. I saw him again several weeks later, he had dropped even more weight, and I was shocked and had to ask what he was doing. He told me that he was only eating food that had just one ingredient. One ingredient, what did that mean?
What is food with only one ingredient?
The best way to describe food that has one ingredient is to say that the food has not been processed and there is nothing else added. A chicken egg only has egg in it. Fresh meats only have meat. Fruits, vegetables and whole grains naturally only have one ingredient.
Pick up any food item at the store and look at the label describing all the ingredients. You will see a long list of ingredients, including words you do not even recognize. They call this “processed food”. In fact, some foods have been so over processed they are not even the original food anymore.
The label and long list of ingredients will help us all understand why some of us cannot lose weight. The processing and added ingredients keep us overweight.
It seems we have gotten away from ‘healthy’ because we are more concerned with marketing to an impatient society that does not have the time to prepare fresh food.
List of food with one ingredient
I wanted to make a list of food that had only one ingredient that I could find at the average grocery store and did not have to travel all over to specialized stores looking for it.
Here is the list I comprised:
Chicken / Beef / Turkey / Eggs / Ham / Pork / Liver / Lamb / Sea foods / all Fish / Shellfish / Milk / Cheese / Yogurt / Raw nuts and Seeds.
Corn / Oats / Barley / Buck wheat / Whole wheat / Wheat germ / Granola / Rice / Noodles / Pasta whole wheat / Muesli and Oat Cakes.
All fresh vegetables have one ingredient.
All fresh fruits have one ingredient.
I know diets are hard to stick to and there is a new diet invented every day. You cannot go wrong with eating quality food that has not been overly processed to the max.
Try eating food with just one ingredient, seeing if in just one week you do not feel better, look better, have more energy and are a few pounds lighter.
