When I decided to paint the trim in our master bedroom, my husband said it would be much easier to do if we had sawhorses, and he had been meaning to buy some for different projects anyway. We weren’t sure which style we wanted, until I borrowed a set of Ebco Stowaway Metal Folding Sawhorses from our neighbor, who happens to be a contractor.
When I first saw these, I had no idea they converted into sawhorses! They looked like metal troughs, and were stacked one inside of the other, with fold up legs nestled inside of them. Ebco Stowaway Metal Folding Sawhorses are constructed of steel, and they can actually hold as much as 1800 pounds! When they are folded up they measure 31 inches in length, just 8 inches wide, and 6 1/8″ deep.
To use the sawhorses, you simply pull up on the legs and pull them apart. There is a metal cross bar that locks in place to keep them stable. When they are set up their size grows to 31 inches long, 23 3/4 inches wide (including the distance between the legs), and 29 inches high.
The Ebco Stowaway Metal Folding Sawhorses sure are a very handy item to have around the home. Not only do they work great for painting trim, but you could place a piece of plywood across them for a make shift table. They are a good choice for applying paste to wallpaper, and would be a nice tool to have for doing any kind of carpentry work.
Because I didn’t want to get paint on my Ebco Stowaway Metal Folding Sawhorses I taped butcher paper across the tops of them with blue painters tape. When I took the tape off there was some discoloration on the metal sawhorses, which really surprised me, but it certainly had no effect on the usefulness of these tools,
Since we have a small garage and one small storage shed, we don’t have a lot of space for storing the old fashioned sawhorses in either of these areas, so these fold up sawhorses are the perfect answer. When they are folded up they take up very little room, and you can stack multiple units inside of each other without adding hardly any height.
Not only do they take up only a tiny bit of space, but they are great for transporting. You could easily stick these in your truck, but if you don’t have a truck or utility vehicle you could easily place them in the trunk of most cars. The Ebco Stowaway Metal Folding Sawhorses are a great invention! They are also fairly priced at $28.00 each.
