Is a royal wedding in the works for England? Will Prince William marry the gal he has been dating for over 7 years or will the relationship falter at this late date?
Prince William to Wed at Westminister Abbey?
Rumors are swirling that Prince William has started to make plans to wed Kate Middleton next August. Sources at Westminister Abbey have stated that “a date has been earmarked for a royal wedding next year. It is very tentative at the moment but currently the second weekend in August has been mooted,” reports Perez Hilton.
The Queen and Prince Philip have personally visited Westminister Abbey to discuss plans for the wedding this past May. The Queen married at this site in 1947. This spot was also the setting for the funeral of Princess Diana.
Summer 2011 Wedding for Prince William & Kate Middleton?
If a wedding is truly planned it would likely be in 2011, as London would be much too chaotic in 2012, when the Olympics and the Jubilee will occur there. Will the summer of 2011 will London be in the midst of wedding preparations? What a media frenzy this event will cause.
Prince William had alerted the media previously that he expected to get married at about age 28. Well the time has finally come. Prince William turned 28 in June of this year. And Kate Middleton is age 28 too. No time to waste in getting married if William and Kate want to start a family.
Kate has been patient. But she is probably miffed that the British media has taken to calling her “Waity Katie” due to her long relationship that has not yet culminated in a marriage proposal.
Prince William first met Kate when they were students at Saint Andrews University. So this couple has grown up together. They have already experienced quite a few major life events as a couple. Will this give their bond a particular strength as they move into marriage?
The World Awaits News of an Engagement of Prince William & Kate Middleton
Will an engagement announcement be made quite soon? The Daily Mail reports that a cousin of Prince Charles said “the pair will formally announce their engagement this autumn and marry next July.”
It must be an awfully lot of pressure on Prince William to know that his marital decision will impact the history of the royal family. Also, the Prince is a child of a stormy marriage, so he surely must have a bit of angst about taking the plunge into marriage.
It is still hard to believe that Princess Diana is gone and is not in William’s life to help guide him as he makes this very important decision about marriage. Prince William lost his mother when he was quite young. The world will rejoice at his wedding as he moves on in life from tragedy and starts his own marriage and possible later begins his role as a parent.
I Hope Westminister Abbey is the Wedding Site
Westminister Abbey is a magnificent place. I have been there twice over the years while visiting London. I have not been there since before Diana died. I am sure the place will have a different feel to it now knowing that her funeral was there.
A wedding would bring a happier tone to Westminister Abbey. I do hope this is the site for Prince William’s wedding.
Best wishes to Prince William and Kate as they perhaps move onto this new stage in life. They are a stunning couple and will hopefully have a long and happy marriage.
