About ten days ago, Evan Longoria and David Price complained that there were not enough fans at Tropicana Field to watch the Rays. On that night there were about twelve thousand Tampa Bay Rays fans at Tropicana Field. The players were disappointed. They said it was harder for them to play the game of baseball when there weren’t a bunch of fans at the stadium.
The Tamps Bay Rays fans showed up at Tropicana Field to watch the rays play the first two games of the ALDS against the Texas Rangers this week. Tropicana Field was filled to capacity and the fans were there to support their team. The problem is the team did not show up for the ALDS. Evan Longoria and David Price did not show up ready to defend their territory against the Texas Rangers. The Rangers won the first two games at Tropicana Field against Evan Longoria, David Price and the Rays. The fans showed up. The Tamps Bay Rays managed to score one run in two games. Evan Longoria batted one for eight, with two strikeouts and left five men on base in the first two games of the ALDS. David Price gave up five runs in 6.2 innings, striking out eight, but giving up two homeruns. It looks like it’s time for the Tampa Bay Rays fans to complain.
Evan Longoria and David Price, the Rays fans showed up for the ALDS like you both asked them too. Your fans live in an area that has sixteen percent unemployment. Your fans spent their hard earned money to watch you play baseball. What was wrong with you David Price? Did you spend too much time staring at your own picture on the cover of Sports Illustrated? Since you complained about the fans Evan Longoria, your team has been shutout four times in the past ten days.
Evan Longoria and David Price you are ballplayers for the Tampa Bay Rays. The fans love both of you and what you do for the team. The problem is both of you have good jobs and many of your fans are out of work. If you are going to complain, maybe you should put your feet in the shoes of your fans. If you are going to complain, maybe you should go out and play baseball for your fans.
The Tampa Bay Rays do not have a huge fan base in St. Petersburg, FL. The Tampa Bay Rays are young baseball teams that have been horrible except for the past few years. The economy is bad and many people in the Tamps Bay area do not have a lot of extra money to spend at baseball games. Everybody claims the ticket prices are cheap, but you have to spend 10-20 dollars on parking for each game. The food, beer and drinks are expensive at Tropicana Field. A twenty-four ounce can of beer is going to run you nine dollars.
Evan Longoria and David Price both had the audacity to call the Tampa Bay Rays fans out last week. The problem with the two rich baseball stars is they forget how to play baseball just as soon as they opened their mouths. As a Tampa Bay Ray fan I have something to say to Evan Longoria and David Price, shut up and play baseball. Do your jobs as major league baseball players for the Tampa Bay Rays and quit complaining about your fans. The fans didn’t put you 0-2 in the ALDS against the Texas Rangers. The two of you and your teammates did.
