The Evenflo Triumph Car Seat falls into the category of a convertible car seat. An infant car seat accommodates babies that weigh less than 20 pounds (although some seats are rated for infants up to 22 pounds). A convertible car seat can be used until the baby grows to the point where a booster seat is needed.
I reviewed several models of seats using the following criteria:
• How much weight will the seat accommodate
• How easy is it to use
• Does it have a good harness system
• Does it clean up easy
• Can it be used with stollers
Let me share with you my findings on the Evenflo Triumph.
Size Isn’t As Big A Deal
The Evenflo Triumph will accommodate a baby from 2 pounds to 35 pounds while it is rear facing; and 20 to 50 pounds when it is facing forward. Additionally, this seat is safety rated to handle a child that is up to 50 inches tall in forward facing mode.
Wow, that’s pretty tall and pretty heavy. I also found out that most convertible seats have a maximum weight of 40 pounds, so this seat give you a little more bang for your buck.
Seems to Be User Friendly
This seat comes with the InfiniteSlide harness system. The beauty of this is that it allows the height of the harness to be changed by moving the red tabs up and down. Moreover, this harness system doesn’t require you to re-thread, and that decreases the likelihood that you might re-position the seat improperly.
One nice feature is a fold away cup holder. This can easily be stowed until the baby grows to the age when they can have a sippie cup at their disposal.
5-point harness system with TensionRight Knobs
The Evenflo Triumph comes equipped with a 5-point harness system. Featuring two straps over the shoulder; two straps around the hips; and one strap between the legs, this system can easily and quickly be adjusted using the TensionRight knobs that are located on either side of the seat.
Clean-up is a breeze!
The seat is very friendly when it comes to cleaning up those inevitable messes. The body and infant head support pillows are machine washable and easily snap in and out so that you can just toss them into the laundry.
Additionally, the sippie cup holder can be easily removed and cleaned when juices or milk splash around.
Not compatible with a stroller.
Since convertible seats, like the Evenflo Triumph, are more stationary and not portable like infant seats, they are not used in conjunction with a stroller system.
As with any product, there are always some dissatisfied customers. One customer did express some dissatisfaction about the bulkiness of the car seat but decided to move the seat to the middle of the rear (which, incidentally, is the safest place for the seat) and that rectified the problem.
I used all of these factors and equally compared all of the car seats that I ran across. Review my all of my findings on my website Infant Car Seats Info
