Fable 3 carries on from Fable 1 and Fable 2, and takes place fifty years after Fable 2’s events. Basically, the industrial revolution in Albion has brought the prosperity desired by residents of the kingdom. Revolution is starting though, and the kingdom is in crisis. The gamer gets to be in a position of power, and chooses his or her path to adventures. Power can be used for individual gain or for a loftier goal. Although the gamer generally has the choice to decide, some characters can only follow a certain path, not always to one’s liking.

Although the game is $59, Barnes & Noble discussed the assets of a limited edition available for an additional $20. That is definitely the game to purchase. Fable 3’s limited edition offers a new quest, finding the secrets to Silverpines’ haunted forests. It’s possible to earn Wolfsbane, a sword of magic and legend, capable of destroying wolves and balverines.
Even in Albion, families have restless feet. Move to a new location; take the family; find treasures. Don’t forget to take along the Boxer, a newly introduced breed known for loyalty and bravery.
Watch for the Guild Seal Coin featuring a blue good side and red evil side. The coin can aid the gamer when making decisions that are destined to impact the world’s fate. Lionhead has not disappointed yet with its graphics and originality. The Fable 3 playing cards have every character type found in Fable 3, including heroes, rebels, and the bad guys.
For the fashion conscious, there are two unique outfits, one male and one female, from Aurora. That distant, mysterious land could offer no less than clothing to wrap the gamer’s avatar in a compelling wardrobe.
Fable 3 has fifty achievements. There are no experience points. I spoke to several gamers Monday and Tuesday who were reserving or purchasing Fable 3. The general consensus is that the game is worth the money, and that it seems like it has been fifty years since Fable 2 came out. The feature most liked is that the gamer must consider choices and make the best decision, knowing that it will affect their options and the fate of others later in the game. Pledges made now must be honored later. One would never want to remind the kids, but this is a lesson we’ve been trying to teach for years. If they can learn it gaming, that is wonderful!
Although there was a problem getting the Village Maker DLC to work on the first day of release, PR News reports today (October 27) that the problem has been resolved.
