Getting tired of having your face drying out every other week? It gets tiring putting on face cream every hour to keep you skin hydrated and some brands are expensive. Luckily there are a variety of options to choose from when making homemade masks and since winter is just around the corner, now is the perfect time to try them. From masks with avocado to honey, here are few homemade recipes you can experiment with to see which one works the best for you.
There are different ways to make an avocado and honey mask. First here are a few recipes you can make with the first ingredient, avocado:
1 avocado, mashed
Use two tablespoons of both avocado and honey. Mix in the egg yolk with the other two ingredients and then apply to face. Leave it on between 10-15 minutes. Wash off afterwards.
1 avocado (Make sure your avocado is ripe before mixing the ingredients together).
After mashing up your avocado put in 2 tablespoons of yogurt and finally put in 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix well then apply and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off and (ta-da!) you are done.
1 egg, separated
Break egg, separate yolk from white, and stir yolk until smooth. Carefully apply the yolk to your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with facial cleanser and apply moisturizer afterward.
If you are unsure or a little hesitant with trying to make your own masks at first here are a couple of well reviewed facial masks you can buy:
Beyond Belief Vita C+ Hydrating Peel Mask (At Sally’s Beauty Supply Stores) Queen Helene Olive Oil Masque (At Sally’s Beauty Supply Stores) Sugar Face Polish (Sephora.com) Rejuvenating Treatment Masque (Ulta.com or Ulta stores)
Keep in mind these are just a few of hundreds (and possibly thousands) of different homemade recipes and already made products than can help your dry skin. Some of these recipes you may have already seen before, but with slightly different ingredients to them. Some may call to put moisturizer on after taking/washing off the mask while others may say not to. Whatever the instructions, just find the mask that works for you and have fun with it! Remember to always make sure your face is cleansed before applying your masks and check to see if you are allergic to any of the ingredients whether they are homemade or not.
