Civilian concentration camps, they have been talked about in television shows, referenced by bands like Muse in their new song entitled “Uprising.”But how close were they to reality in their predictions? Are movies like “District 13,” depicting a 2010 world with social problems, violence, drugs, and organized crime over-running the poor suburbs of Paris, too far off of reality. A fictitious story in which a town has become so overrun my crime that the government has decided the best option is to conseal them by building fences around the entire city to prevent anyone from escaping or entering this crime-ridden town. To some it may sound too desperate for a storyline, but this has already occured in history. The Nazi’s built barbed wire fences, and brick walls around cities, creating ghettos that could not be escaped. It is hard for Americans to believe as we sit in our warm, comfortable homes, reading our e-mails on hundred dollar computers, sipping hot coco, that this could very well happen again.
As the crime rate rises in the United States, so does the tention in government. Becoming so overwhelmed with problems caused by citizens, the only logical solution is to lock us all in a cell and keep an eye on each one of us. It is rumored that there are already concentration camps built in the United States. In a document to other members of Congress, Bill Hefner, a member of congress, wrote a letter stating, “Enclosed is the information you requested pertaining to the Army’s policy and guidance for establishing civilian inmate labor programs and civilian prison camps on Army installations. This information has not yet been published (it is currently at the printers), however, it has been funded, staffed, and does reflect the current Army policy.” There are pictures available of, so called, “concentration camps” in Texas, Indiana, California, Alabama, and the list goes on. It is said that there are already over 800 “prison” camps built across the United States, “…fully operational and ready for prisoners.” It may sound hard to believe for some, but there are still survivors living from the first time this happened, in Europe. I am not insisting we stand up and fight our own government, the best thing we can do individually, is stop! Stop stealing, stop fighting, stop and think about what this country is really turning into before you decide a piece of stolen gum is worth your freedom.
