This year, the nail polish trend is not just about your typical dark fall colors. The hottest nail polish colors for Fall 2010 include a variety of shades. This season, the nail color trend is branching out and including a number of shades, including gray and violet tones to deep jewel tones and metallics. Subtle creamy neutrals such as nude, peach and brown are also making an appearance on the runways. Jewel toned blue and soft periwinkle blue are a big trend this Fall season. Green is also a big hit this year.
One of the most loved and sought after collections this coming fall is Orly’s new Cosmic FX nail polish collection. This collection is hot! It includes an array of metallic, jeweled toned, multidimensional and duo chrome colors that will have you drooling. Lunar Eclipse is the perfect blue for this season. It’s a gorgeous bright, foiled electric blue color with a pink and purple shift that looks absolutely amazing on pale skin. Out of this World is a must have blackened plum shade with purple and pink shimmer. Space Cadet is another must have. This color is so gorgeous and complex that it’s difficult to describe. A mix between rose and copper that shifts and changes colors in all different lights. If you love complex shades, this color is definitely worth checking out.
Chanel’s Fall line of nail polish includes the biggest trend of all for this season, gray and purple. Paradoxal Nail Colour is a gorgeous new shade that combines purple with a shot of gray and some shimmer to create a unique “off gray” with a hint of purple tone that is perfect for the Fall 2010 season.
If you’re color shy and want to take advantage of the neutral trend this season, you have quite a few options as well. This color trend seems to have carried over from the Spring so you may already have similar shades in your collection. Chanel’s Spring 2010 line is perfect. It includes Particulière which is the perfect brown/taupe color. Opi’s You Don’t Know Jacques is also a very similar color that is hot this Fall. You can also check out Opi Over the Taupe, Orly Prince Charming and American Apparel Mouse for similar trendy shades.
Chanel’s Innatendu from the same Spring 2010 collection is the perfect creamy peach. Some other, peaches that will work this Fall include Opi Hopelessly in Love, MAC SeasonalPeach, and China Glaze Peechy Keen.
Last but not least, we have green. This Fall, the perfect shade of green is emerald or shamrock. Metallic or foiled greens have been seen the most although I’ve seen a bit of mint green here and there as well. My favorite mint green of all time is Sinful Colors Mint Apple. Other popular mint greens include Essie Mint Candie Apple and China Glaze Refresh-Mint.
With so many completely different types of colors in style this Fall, it’s pretty much impossible not to find a color you like. The Fall 2010 season is sure to be lots of fun for nail polish enthusiasts.
