This fall make up is seeing a wearable, yet fun season. The only solid rule this season seems to be play up one feature, as opposed adding color to the whole face. If you want bold eyes, lips need to stay nude. If you want bold lips, play down the eyes. Great skin, or the illusion of great skin is a must.
Neutrals are always in for fall, but we’re seeing spring colors sneak in with the use of accessories as well as make up colors. Turquoise and coral are hot accent colors for fall, adding a tropical feel to cozy fall colors.
Eyes should either be accentuated or toned down depending on your choice of lip color. Accentuated eyes are smokey with combinations of purples, browns, gray, rose and shades of green. Cat eyes are in with liner shades in plums, grays, browns, and of course, black liquid liner. Whether eyes are accentuated or played down, brows should always be clean and soft. The fuller the brow the younger the whole face looks.
Lips should be nude if the eyes are played up. Nude lips can look deathly if not done properly, because the tone of the lips should match closely with the tone of the skin. Nude lips can be warmed a bit by adding a coral tone. Nude lips should shimmer in order to look healthy. If the eyes are played down then rock some bold lip color. A poppy tomato red or a hot tangerine can add that bold pop to the lips. Just make sure that bold lip color works with the skin tone!
Now that you know what to do with the eyes and lips, let me just touch on the rest of the face. Skin should be kept in the best shape possible. The trend for fall is flawless skin. With the eyes or lips being accentuated, the rest of the skin is supposed to have a barely there approach when it comes to make up. Skin should have a natural look, with a complexion between mate and dewey. We’re seeing soft pinks and peaches on the cheeks, even your summer bronzer works great as a cheek color.
