The fourth floor has an exquisite carousel from 1917 that wasoriginally in Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis and has been beautifully restored. The Museum also has a planetarium that seats 130 guests, Lily Theatre for live entertainment, The Museum Store with thousands of educational toys, games, books and arts and crafts to purchase and an expansive food court with five different ‘restaurants’ and a Starbucks. The Indiana State Museum – Celebrating the rich and diverse history of the 19th State. The Indiana State Museum’s collection has over one hundred thousand items (though only about 2% of them are on public display at any given time) that range from art to fossils to current items from pop culture and everything in between. The museum also has an IMAX movie theatre that showcases stunning visual documentaries as well as theatrical blockbusters such as “Avatar”. Dining is available at the L.S.
