I’m fortunate to live in the beautiful city of San Diego, California where vacations are simple to plan and affordable! Being a San Diego native, here are my top 3 picks for “staycations” that everyone in the family can enjoy
SeaWorld San Diego (www.seaworld.com)
Take a dive into the marine life when you visit SeaWorld! Adult prices for a single day admission are $69 while kids 3 and up is $59. You’ll have the opportunity of choosing from a majority of rides including their only rollercoaster, Journey to Atlantis, their motion video ride, the Wild Arctic or their Sky Tower that brings you thousands of feet into the air, able to overlook the city of San Diego. SeaWorld has an array of entertaining shows including Pets Rule, a show dedicated to animal tricks, the original and famous Shamu show as well as the Sea Lion and Otter show. Now if you’re looking for other things to do around SeaWorld, you can visit the Dolphin’s Cove and even feed them for only $4. You can end the night with a fireworks show and a chocolate dipped cookie for any food place inside.
The San Diego Zoo (www.sandiegozoo.org)
You learn something new every day and after a visit at the San Diego Zoo, you’ll learn even more about your not so typical animals! Adult prices for a single day admission are $37 while kids 3 and up is $27. The zoo is more flexible with tickets so you have the ability to purchase a 2 day pass as well. Although the zoo doesn’t have rides, they do offer plenty of educational programs and tours. Programs and tours cost extra depending on which one you choose. The zoo is a great place to go for the day and learn about animals.
Belmont Park (www.belmontpark.com)
This is one of the most popular and favorite attractions in San Diego. You’re putting in a county fair and a carnival all in one. Admission is free since it’s in a public location located right in front of Mission Beach. You’ll need to pay extra for the games that can win you prizes, the rides and carnival-like food. The Giant Dipper is the rollercoaster that you won’t be able to miss! You can choose from cotton candy, ice cream or even a funnel cake from their Sweet Shoppe. Belmont Park is great for anyone to visit of any age! There are lots of things to do from riding rides, grabbing a bite to eat or even visiting the beach. It’s even open year round!
With these three staycations in mind, you’ll have no problem choosing the perfect staycation that’s perfect for your budget, your time and your family!
