If you live in or near San Antonio, you’re in luck since there are so many great things you can do for a winter break staycation with your family. Winter has long been known in San Antonio as the time when the locals take their city back. Most of the summer visitors move back to where they came from and there is a calm that surrounds the ever-bustling city.
This is the perfect time to enjoy a family staycation with the ones you love in the city that you also love. Here are some ideas:
• Spend time visiting some of the many wonderful shops and restaurants that are found in the very cultural city of San Antonio.
• Underground Chapel of Santa Ines- This is a great piece of local history and legend and even if you’ve been there before. The Chapel has a history that goes back to Roman times and is an important part of San Antonio to check out.
• Visit the Alamo- People travel from all over the country and even from other countries to see the Alamo and here you are with it basically in your backyard. Why not take a visit out to the Alamo, even if you’ve been there before? This can be a fun part of your winter break staycation with your family. The Alamo is closed on December 24th and 25th.
• Casa Navarro State Historical Park- This is the homesite of Jose Antonio Navarro and it’s a great piece of rich San Antonio history worth checking out as part of your staycation.
Remember that if you don’t have enough money for a vacation this winter or if you’re saving your money for Christmas gifts or some other important use, then you can still have fun on winter break with your family by enjoying a San Antonio staycation.
