Dying is just like taxes in the respect that it is going to happen to you and me. Over history, we realize it doesn’t matter who you are, you are going to face death. Famous people have no secret weapon against death. They are just like you and I. They will die. We will die. Death is a part of life. However, many of us look forward to eternal life in Heaven. After we all pass from this world, I hope to meet each one of you in a better place called Heaven.

1345-1383- Ferdinand I was the wise, king of Portugal, sometimes known as the Handsome.
1650-1707- Cloudesley Shovell was an Admiral, drowns at Sicily in a shipwreck. He was commander and chief of the British fleets.
1694-1755- Elisha Williams was an American rector of Yale College. He was a member of the Connecticut legislature.
1897-1927- Ross Youngs was a Hall of Fame base player, dies of Bright’s disease at 30. He is considered one of the 100 greatest baseball players of all time. He was a consistent player with great defense and consistent hitting. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972.
1862-1928 – Andrew Fisher was the fifth Prime Minister of Australia
1842-1932 – Anna Dickinson dies just a week shy of her 90th birthday. She was an advocate for the abolition of slavery and woman’s suffrage. She was the first woman to speak before the United States Congress.
1904-1934- Charles “Pretty Boy” Floyd was a gangster who was shot dead at 30 by FBI in Ohio. He was a famous American bank robber.
1886-1965 – Paul Tillich was a German/US Theologist (Courage To Be), was a Christian existentialist philosopher. He gave answers to the problems of human existence.
1885-1969 – Giovanni Martinelli was a famous Italian opera singer (NY Met), dies on his 84th birthday
1937-1978 – John Riley was a famous English poet who was murdered.
1893-1986- Albert Szent-Gyorgyi was a famous bio-chemist who is credited with discovering Vitamin C. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1937. He was active in the Hungarian resistance in World War II. He became a United States citizen after the war.
1947-1986 – Jane Dornnacker was a WNBC-AM NYC helicopter traffic reporter, dies doing a live traffic report as her copter crashes into the Hudson river.
1908-1992 – Red Barber was a famous sportscaster for the Dodgers and Yankees. He was inducted into the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Hall of Fame.
1909-1993 – Elie A Cohen was a famous physician (held in Auschwitz), dies at 84. He was an author of many books about the Holocaust.
1993 – Fred C Shapiro was a famous US journalist who covered The Tiananmen-square 1989 incident in China.
1926-2009 – Soupy Sales was a famous American comedian and television personality (Lunch With Soupy Sales) He also played on a few game shows.
