Fans of the hit ABC show “Lost” attended an auction in California over the weekend to bid on pieces of “Lost” television history. Many of the show’s props were up for grabs and $900,000 dollars of fans’ cash was spent on the first day alone!
At the auction, there were 1174 lots crammed with memorabilia, and some of the show’s most dedicated fans showed up in the hope of taking some of it home to keep forever. There was a $42 entrance fee to the auction, with a proportion of the proceeds going to charities in Hawaii, where the show was filmed. Bids were also able to be placed by telephone an online.
Among the items available at the auction were a Dharma Volkswagen Van, Locke’s suicide note, Sun’s wedding dress, Sawyer’s outfit from the pilot episode and a set of Dharma Beer! Everything that was on auction at the weekend sold for a minimum of $650, with the maximum sale being $47,500 (for the Dharma Volkswagen)
A rush of bids for Sawyer’s Dharma jumpsuit caused a crash in the online bidding system, but aside from that, the event appeared to be very successful!

As a huge fan of the show, I might have been happy with a few cans of Dharma beer, but if I had money to burn, I would have gone for Hurley’s notebook with re-writes of The Empire Strikes Back, Hurley’s lottery ticket, Sawyer’s letter, Kate’s toy aeroplane and Mr Eko’s stick!
