Thanksgiving is already here and the fantasy football playoffs are approaching for those in head to head fantasy football leagues. Now is is when fantasy football leagues are won and lost. There are some huge fantasy football match ups when it comes to running backs and there may be some important returning running backs onto the rosters this weekend.
There are several fantasy football running backs that are must starts this Thanksgiving weekend. No.1) Chris Johnson will be playing against the worst defense in the NFL the Houston Texans. No. 2) Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings will take on the Washington Redskins. No. 3) Darren McFadden and the Oakland Raiders are at home against the staggering Miami Dolphins.
No.4) Steven Jackson and the St Louis Rams take on the Denver Broncos who are yielding over 140 yards per game on the ground. No.5) Frank Gore and the San Francisco 49ers is taking on the Arizona Cardinals another team that is prone to giving up yards on the ground.
Three Fantasy Football Running Backs to Start in Week 12 of Fantasy Football
Jamaal Charles: Kansas City Chiefs
Jamaal Charles will be picking up more carries as the season wears on and this game could be his coming out party. The Kansas City Chiefs travels to play the Seattle Seahawks in a loud and raucous venue, Qwest Field. This game dictates that the Kansas City Chiefs run the ball and take the loud crowd out of the game.
Charles has fresh legs and will be a huge asset in this game. Start Jamaal Charles unless two of the above five fantasy football running backs are on the same roster, which is not likely in a normal fantasy football league.
Rashard Mendenhall: Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled with their running game all season. Look for them to take advantage of an inept Buffalo Bills run defense in this game and focus on their running game. Rashard Mendenhall may never be a start again in fantasy football this season so take the one shot at earning some points from him in this game.
If he does well, see if anyone desperate in the fantasy football league is looking for a running back. Start Rashard Mendenhall unless two of the above six fantasy football running backs are on the fantasy football roster.
Peyton Hillis: Cleveland Browns
Peyton Hillis is a super stud of epic proportions in fantasy football. Anyone lucky enough to have picked up Hillis off the waiver wire has been handsomely rewarded this fantasy football season. Hillis has been a boon for the Cleveland Browns this season and in week 12 of fantasy football he will be a key running back.
The Cleveland Browns will be taking on the Carolina Panthers and they are yielding over 130 yards on the ground. Start Peyton Hillis in all fantasy football leagues unless two of the above seven fantasy football running backs are on the fantasy football roster.
Three Fantasy Football Running Backs to Sit in Week 12 of Fantasy Football
Cedric Benson: Cincinnati Bengals
Cedric Benson performed well for his fantasy football owners in week 11 but do not expect back to back runs for Benson when he encounters the New York Jets. Benson is not a running back that will run the same against a stout run defense as he will against a weak run defense.
Benson had a big day against the worst run defense in the NFL and he will be wrapped up and contained by the New York Jets run defense. Sit Cedric Benson in all fantasy football leagues unless the next best options are ranked 12th or less in the fantasy football rankings.
Knowshon Moreno: Denver Broncos
Knowshon Moreno is back and he has become a 100 yard per game back. This next game that Moreno will be playing in for week 12 of fantasy football will be against the up and coming St Louis Rams defense. They are hammering opposing running games and limiting them to less than 100 yards per game.
The St Louis Rams may be the least known top run defense in the NFL but they are among the best. Sit Knowshon Moreno in all fantasy football leagues unless the next best options are ranked 13th or less in the running back fantasy football rankings.
Maurice Jones-Drew: Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Maurice Jones-Drew had a huge win over the Cleveland Browns in the last week. This week MJD and his Jacksonville Jaguars travel up the coast to play a New York Giants team that is looking to make a statement.
The New York Giants defense is one of the best and they have been humiliated the last two weeks. Jones-Drew does not stand a chance this week against a run defense that was torn to pieces by the Philadelphia Eagles. Sit Maurice Jones-Drew in all fantasy football leagues unless the next best option is ranked 11th or less in the running back fantasy football rankings.
