Time is running out to get your injury replacements in order for fantasy football teams. Lets get the latest as we head into action tomorrow.
-Vikings coach Brad Childress reported today that he expects QB Brett Favre to suit up tomorrow against the Cowboys. Favre had stated during the week he would have no problem sitting out a few games to rest up his ailing throwing elbow but there is almost no way the man will ever take a seat. Put him out there against the poor Dallas secondary.
-Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick will be the emergency or number 3 QB Sunday against the Falcons. Vick had hoped to play against his former team but was overruled by head coach Andy Reid. Kevin Kolb gets the start and is worth a look in those leagues that use two QB’s.
-Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is said to be “fine” and will start Sunday against the Dolphins. Rodgers suffered a concussion last week but it was said to be mild and he passed all his tests leading up to the game. Get him back out there as he has a great matchup against Miami.
-Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson is listed as probable for Sunday with a thigh issue but he will certainly play. One of the top RB plays for this week as he takes on Jacksonville.
-Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson is listed as probably this Sunday but he will be in there just like last week against the Giants. Johnson is a must start as always.
-Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice was listed on the injury report as probable and there is no story here as he is coming off a 2 TD game with over 100 yards rushing. Rice goes against the Patriots who he demolished in the playoffs last year.
-Cowboys rookie WR Dez Bryant is going to be a game-time decision with bruised ribs and my best advice is to bench him in favor of someone else due to the fact that their game starts at 4:00 ET which will severely limit the players you can replace him with.
-Denver Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno is listed as questionable for Sunday and he could finally get back on the field after missing three games. His opponent is not fantasy worthy to go against as the Jets are one of the best run stopping units in the game. Also his workload will be limited so as not to reaggravate the injury.
-New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas will miss his third straight game with a bum ankle and doesn’t seem like will get back anytime soon. Ladell Betts and Chris Ivory will once again split carries with Ivory having the better shot at TD’s. Either one is not recommended.
-Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Giants and those in the know believe he will play. The Lions play at 1:00 ET so you will have plenty of options to choose from if you have to replace him in the lineup.
-Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai claims he will be on the field this Sunday and no one inside the Colts’ front office has said anything to refute the notion. Addai is bother by a shoulder issue but he has usually found his way onto the field on Sunday. Start him against the Redskins.
That’s all for now. As always check back Sunday morning for all the up to the minute info on who is starting and who is out.
