Just a total annihilation by the Jets over the Bills here as Buffalo clearly has one of the worst teams in all of football. The Jets on the other hand looked great and are primed for a big run this season.
New York Jets:
Mark Sanchez: 14/24 for 161 yards with 2 TD’s and 0 INT’s. Incredibly, Sanchez has not thrown one pick this season and looks nothing like the mistake prone rookie he was last season. In fact Sanchez looks fantasy football worthy for the first time in his career which is saying a lot. Dont go crazy with him yet as he still has much to prove and this still on paper is a running team. Be that as it may if you need a bye week fill-in, Sanchez would be perfect depending on the opponent.
LaDainian Tomlinson: 19 carries for 133 yards and 2 TD’s along with 3 catches for 22 yards. If you ignored the uniform, you would think you were watching the Tomlinson who tore up the league as a member of the San Diego Chargers. Tomlinson absolutely tore it up here and struck down the notion that he is done. Its great seeing one of the NFL’s good guys doing well like this and those savvy fantasy football owners who took a late flier on him should be ecstatic.
Shonn Greene: 22 carries for 117 yards. It was good times all around as even Greene got in on the action for the first time this season. Greene was terrible up to this point and was severely overrated coming into the season as I discussed. However he has talent and can do some good things. The bottom line is that the presence of Tomlinson will continue to take away from his numbers so at this point Greene is nothing but a low end RB 2 or FLEX option.
Braylon Edwards: 4 catches for 86 yards with 1 TD. Edwards will never be a PPR option but the man knows how to get into the end zone. Those in TD heavy leagues should be keyed in on him for a trade as he could come cheap due to his recent off-the-field issues and it seems like Mark Sanchez likes to go long at least once every game. He is an idiot but he has his value.
Dustin Keller: 4 catches for 28 yards and 2 TD’s. This is starting to get a little ridiculous as Keller now has 5 TD’s on the season and is quickly putting himself at the top of the TE rankings. I did a piece on him last week about how he is now worthy of a number 1 TE spot and he should continue to rack up the numbers the rest of the season. Yet another Jet who came real cheap and is now producing.
Jerricho Cotchery: 3 catches for 26 yards. Cotchery was once usable in fantasy football leagues but he is being left behind by all the others mentioned above. Keep him on the waivers as he wont do enough to be worthy of a spot on your club.
Ryan Fitzpatrick: 12/17 for 128 yards with 2 TD’s and 0 INT’s. Fitzpartick was running for his life all day but managed to sneak in 2 TD’s. Either way no one in their right mind started him this week or will ever in their future playing this game.
Marshawn Lynch: 4 carries for 8 yards with 1 fumble. Dump him to the scrap heap.
David Nelson: 4 catches for 75 yards. Writing about David Nelson shows you how pathetic the Bills’ offense is.
Lee Evans: 1 catch for 6 yards. The shame of it all is that Evans has talent but is wasting away here. Very sad.
