After a few highlights, my hair turned dull and dry. Right before my wedding, I was in desperate need of shine. I bought Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist at Victoria’s Secret, after the sales associate highly recommended it. My own review for the product, however, is not quite as good. Read on for more detail!
The product claims to spray on with feather-light mist, but it was more of a thick, overpowering mist to me – not what I expected.
Instead of spraying into my hair, the product just sat on top of it. It did provide shine, but also left my hair very oily. Perhaps this is because the product contains olive oil? But it did promise sheerness, not grease!
For the entire night, my head felt like it was weighed down – very uncomfortable!
To be honest, I was disappointed with the performance. It felt like hair gel, not shine mist.
The shine did last, but so did the greasy feeling. As a matter of fact, I was kind of hoping that it wouldn’t last too long.
A 5 oz. bottle is about $23.00. A 1.7 oz. bottle is about $9.00. Mine lasted a long time for me, but that’s probably because I didn’t use it much. For the same price, I think there’s better.
The smell was a faint and pleasant fragrance. It was so faint that it was almost nonexistent. I was pleased with the odor, or the lack of.
Overall Rating? 2/5. Sorry! This shine mist was too shiny for me. It was too heavy to give me that light veil of sheer sleekness I looked for.
Repurchase? No! Like I said, there are better products out there for the same or even less price.
I did not like using the Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist. For my wedding, I actually went to the bridal salon and got a professional gloss done. I used this shine mist a couple more times after the wedding and eventually tossed it. It might work for those with frizzy or curly hair that need a heavy-duty product. But for someone with normal hair, it was too oily.
