The key to gaining muscle is knowing the important facts. Knowing how it works and why it works is one of the most important things to know when trying to gain muscle. Many people go the gym without knowing these things and wonder why they aren’t seeing results. They probably will see results eventually but saving time and energy would be a much better plan. Below is a list of five of the most important muscle building tips.
No. 1. Working out 3-4 hours a week is better than spending tons of time in the gym each week. You don’t want to overwork your muscles. Otherwise, they will never have time to recover and grow. Your muscles grow when you rest, not when you work out. If you are working out to much, you will just be wasting your time and energy. 3-4 hours a week or around 45 minutes a day is a great amount of time each week, as long as you are using that time efficiently.
No. 2. You will gain muscle faster using free weights. Free weights allow your body to train the way that they want to train. Machines do a good job of teaching you the correct process but they can only go so far when it comes actually gaining muscle. Dumbbells, manual bench , and manual squat are the best free weights to use. Machines can still be used though. Machines are good for beginners, as they allow you to understand how the lifting process is supposed to work.
No. 3. Know what your body is doing when you lift, so you can ensure you get the maximum muscle gain possible. If you fully understand what your body is doing when you lift weights and how it works, then you will be able to gain muscle much faster. You will also save yourself tons of time in the gym and lots of energy if you understand the correct way to lift and what needs to be done to ensure efficient muscle gain.
No. 4. Weight training is a lifestyle change. If you are planning on gaining a bunch of muscle in 2 weeks by spending 40 hours in the gym and then never lifting again, you will be disappointed. Diet, rest, and routine are just a few of the things that go into muscle gain. Your body needs a schedule for lifting. You can lift three days a week and rest the other two days or else you can lift five days a week for shorter periods of time. There are tons of different routines you can have. Just make sure you stick to it as best as you can and efficiently use all the time in the gym that you get.
No. 5. Eat, Eat, and Eat. Your body needs food in order to make muscle. When you start working out, you need to eat tons of food (healthy whole foods), and you need to drink lots of water. If you don’t eat you won’t gain as much muscle.
