It is always fun to tour car lots and find out what is in store for the upcoming year. Not all vehicles have been updated, but those that are present some enticing appeal. Following are some of the cars that caught my attention as I toured car lots and the Internet.
Hyundai 2011 Sonata SE
Hyundai’s 2011 Sonata SE has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting at $22,595, which includes the destination charge. It is an extremely classy-looking car, with great exterior lines and styling. You can make a package deal when you choose options. There are many colors available; my favorite three are Camel Pearl, Venetian Red, and Pearl White. It is a midsize sedan, giving it a bit more room than some of the other cars in this category. It has a 4-cylinder engine, but plenty of power. Standard accessories are Bluetooth, and XM satellite radio. The Sonata is completely redesigned for the 2011 year. It averages 23 mpg city traffic, and 34 mpg highway mileage, with an 18.5 gallon fuel tank capacity. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission, 200 HP, and a 10-year/100,000 mile warranty. The fuel system is gasoline direct injection.
Ford 2011 Taurus SHO
Ford introduces a new Taurus SHO for 2011. The Taurus is a beautiful, yet durable car. You can be safe and classy. Starting at $37,770, the SHO has a turbo compressor, 3.5L V6 double overhead cam with VVT. Ford’s engineers recommend premium unleaded (91 octane), which gives you an average 17 mpg city traffic, 25 mpg highway mileage, with a 19.0 gallon fuel tank capacity. It has a direct injection fuel system, and 365 HP. Ford continually produces popular colors on vehicles, and the 2011 Taurus is sporting many of them.
Ford F250 2011 Super Duty
I have never met a Ford truck I did not like. The 2011Ford F250 Super Duty, LongBed Extended Cab Truck just affirms my position. Starting at $34,095, it has a 6.2L V8 overhead cam with VVT. The Ford engineers give a go for unleaded fuel in this truck, and put a 35.0 gallon fuel tank in it, giving those in more isolated areas plenty of room to run until needing to stop for gasoline. Expect about 16 mpg city, and 21 highway driving. It is set up with a multipoint injection fuel system, and has 385 HP. This is another Ford truck that you can take anywhere, and still fit right in. There is plenty of room for long legs and cargo. Ford is making both a gas and diesel engine available. With the F250 Super Duty’s six-speed, heavy-duty automatic transmission, towing power is good. It is definitely worth a drive to your local Ford Dealership to see the 2011 Ford F250 Super Duty, LongBed Extended Cab Truck.
Buick 2011 Regal CXL Sedan
Let’s turn back to another car, the 2011 Buick Regal CXL sedan. The Manufacturer’s suggested retail price starts at $26,245. With a 2.4L in-line 4 double overhead cam with VVT, yet a recommendation of unleaded 87-octane fuel, Buick offers class and economy in the same breath. The direct injection fuel system enhances the 182 hp engine. The 18.0-gallon fuel tank is a good size, since the Regal averages 19 mpg city driving and 23 mpg on the highway. The Regal is roomier on the inside than other comparable sedans. The exterior is the biggest draw: a classy grille and rims cause a viewer to take a second look, just to verify they are as beautiful as they appeared the first time.
Chevrolet 2011 Mailbu Hybrid
If a hybrid is more or less what you have been considering, your search might be over after you look at the 2011 Chevy Malibu Hybrid. This sedan’s nickel metal hydride battery pack and other key hybrid components are covered by an eight -year /100,000 mile warranty. The price starts from $21,825 – 27,015. The 2.4L L4 engine produces169 HP. Mileage averages 22 mpg city driving, and 33 mpg highway driving. The 2011 Hybrid has four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock control, and traction control. It is among the heavier cars of its class, which brings more safety and steering advantage when weather impedes driving conditions.
Technology brings us a safer, more eco-friendly blend of vehicles in 2011. You can count on seeing them in your area soon.
