I use a lot of chicken broth when I cook. It is great for flavoring soups. I also love it for making my scratch version of chicken potpie. I even like using it to flavor certain kinds of vegetables.
When it comes to chicken broth; however, it is important to choose a good one. However, some of the best ones on the market can be a bit pricey. That’s why I usually turn to the Food Lion Brand. I also choose their fat free version because it is healthier than many of the other chicken broth options on the market today.
Food Lion Fat Free Chicken Broth has 41% less sodium than most traditional chicken stocks. That is another plus that I appreciate.
I also love that the product comes in a 32-oz re-sealable carton. It is easy for storage purposes. It also maintains the integrity of the broth.

This is good chicken broth that is ready to serve or to be used in cooking. Here is my summary review:
Taste: 5 stars. This product is not as salty as most chicken broths. That may be a turn off to individuals who prefer more sodium. However, the taste is still rich and delicious.

Freshness: 5 stars. Food Lion Fat Free Chicken Broth is stored in a cardboard container that is re-sealable. That way, if it isn’t all used at once, it will maintain its freshness for quite a while. A date is also stamped on the top of each carton to advise grocers and consumers when the product’s freshness has expired.
Nutrition: 4 stars. Food Lion Fat Free Chicken Broth contains no fat, cholesterol or sugar, which are all positives. It is very moderate in carbs and reasonably moderate in sodium when compared to similar products. Unfortunately, this chick broth has no real nutritional value on its own. It contains no vitamins or minerals to speak of and has immeasurable amounts of protein and fiber.
Green value: 5 stars. Packaging for Food Lion Fat Free Chicken Broth is totally biodegradable.
Packaging: 5 stars. Food Lion Fat Free Chicken Broth comes in a white cardboard carton with the traditional blue Food Lion colored label. The Food Lion logo is prominently displayed. A lime green label above the major blue label ensures the public that the product is indeed fat free. A picture of the broth is included on the front of the box. Also show are photos of some of the product’s contents. While the label is not inordinately colorful, it is distinctive and should be easy to spot on the store shelf.
Ease of storage: 4 stars. The box measures 7.75″ by around 3.5″ by just over 2.25″ in depth. It is a little tall for older kitchen cupboards but should fit well in more modern kitchen cabinets as well as kitchen pantries. When refrigerated, it is likely the carton will need to be stored on the top shelf or inside the refrigerator door.

Price: 5 stars. Food Lion Fat Free Chicken Broth is slightly cheaper than other chicken broths of the same size.
