New York Methodist Hospital has opened a new neck and back pain center in Park Slope, reports the Brooklyn Eagle.
How many times do we think, “Oh, my aching back?” Intermittent to nagging back pain is a common ailment that afflicts many Americans. It may be due, in part, to our sedentary lifestyles. Many of us sit behind a desk or in a vehicle for long hours. Poor quality or the wrong mattresses for our bodies may be causes of back pain, as well, as may be sports and exercise. And back injuries can be demobilizing.
Neck pain develops for the same reasons as back pain. Sometimes, it is caused by something as simple as sleeping the wrong way.
And, Ladies, those sexy high heels are huge contributors to neck and back pain and injury.
New York Methodist Hospital’s new Comprehensive Back and Neck Pain Center offers relief from these spinal woes. It “focuses on the non-operative management of patients, which may include physical or occupational therapy, medication management, injections, or bracing,” according to the Eagle. A wide range of services are available from alternative treatments (chiropractic and acupuncture) to surgery.
There is no need to suffer silently. The new pain center’s telephone number is (718) 369-BACK (2225). It accepts several common insurances.
Stay well till next time, Park Slope.
