Forgiveness, love, and understanding…. There are so many religions out there that teach this. It doesn’t matter if you are Christian, Buddhist, Tao, Jewish, Hindu, Wiccan, or even Muslim, these ideals are taught in our religions. I like to ignore the negatives and dwell on the positive teachings of the religions, because I sincerely believe as a Universalist that The Divine (be it male, female, neutral or both in gender) is love and wants us to fill ourselves with positive energy.
There are many references towards forgiveness in the Qur’ân. In the Qur’ân teachings of forgiveness In verses 35-38 of chapter 42 of there references, restraining one’s anger and offering forgiveness when one has the power to take revenge supersedes prayer and almsgiving.
In The bible in Matthew 18:21-22 it says “Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” Also in the bible found “Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
So the bible the bible and the Qur’ân have references towards forgiveness and not just the ones that I have quoted, but if you actually read the holy scriptures of others instead of listening to the many who talk down about the differences and the negative you will find that the different scriptures hold many similarities even if the stories are not the same. The bible and the Qur’ân are not the only Holy Scripture that speaks of forgiveness. Not everyone is taught from the same scriptures, and many would like to believe that because the human authors are different then the spiritual teacher that instructed the writing must be different too. I don’t think this is the case at all if you truly believe that the Divine is with or within us all and that if you ask for its guidance that it will speak to us and guide us in the true path and direction that is needed then I can’t understand how you could believe it to be a different spirit. Just because spiritual teachers teach negative things does not make them of the same spirit as the book they supposedly represent. The KK suggest they are out to clean up the earth from unholy and the ungodly, but all they really are, are bigots using the bible, the name of God in their evil deeds which neither the bible or the Divine support if you haven’t read the bible and think that these supposed Christians are representatives of the Christian faith, you are horribly mislead. Most religions also speak of unconditional love. Forgiveness is just a form of unconditional love, and it is my belief and opinion that you must have unconditional love to truly be a part of the Divine. With forgiveness, unconditional love I sincerely believe that we can initiate a more open minded world and a deeper understanding of one another, and we need that.
