Sign 1: The vinyl siding on a home can be a deception when purchasing a home. Always look underneath the siding at some point and see what is underneath the it. In some cases the wood may be rotten or there could be Asbestos siding that the vinyl siding is hiding.
Both of these items can prove costly as rotten wood can also be a haven for termites. Asbestos on the other hand can be a problem if one ever has to remove it. Most of the Asbestos siding looks like slate and is hung in shingles. Back when Asbestos first became evident many homeowners took it on themselves to cover this product with vinyl siding. This hid the Asbestos well enough to sell the home.
Sign 2: Lead paint is another problem older homes have homes built in the seventies backward usually have some sort of lead paint. Sign 4: The wiring of a home must be looked at closely especially older homes as it can be insufficient. This will end up costing money right up front. Avoid any older home that has not been electrically upgraded. When checking the main power source of a home always look for at least 200 amps in the breaker or fuse box. This can be done by seeing what the main breaker or fuse says.
