For the 9th consecutive year BAM presents New Wave Art, a 3 month series of performances and art exhibitions featuring “some of Brooklyn’s most exciting artists.”
New Wave Art includes a number of performances which require the purchase of tickets, but throughout the series which opened on September 21st and will run through December 19th, multiple art galleries will be free and open to the public.
The exhibit is divided in between three different BAM venues, the BAM Harvey Theater, the BAMcafe and gallery, and the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House Lobby and Leonard Nathan Room.
The Harvey Theater venue is open to ticketed guests and otherwise admission is not allowed to the general public without a ticket or prior appointment. The Opera House Lobby and Leonard Nathan Room however is open to the public, Monday through Saturday noon to 11pm and Sunday 1 to 11 pm.
BAMcafe and gallery is open on Friday and Saturday evenings, from 8pm until the end of BAMcafe live performances (which are free musical acts, worth checking out also).
As noted previously, appointments can be mad to view all three galleries, by calling (718) 636-4101.
