Fact-living in San Francisco is expensive. Myth-no place in San Francisco offers anything free, except in places funded by the government. In Potrero Hill, at least one business establishment offers free dance classes, pilates, yoga and much more. Sports Basement Bryant Street, which opened its doors in 2007 in the old Hamm’s Brewery, is a place to be if you want to be physically active, but unable to pay for regular dance, pilates and yoga lessons. With four locations in the San Francisco Bay Area (with two located in the city) and an online store, the Sports Basement is not only sporting-goods retailer, but many residents do not know that it is also a community center. You won’t miss this huge red brick-and-wood building at the corner of Bryant and 15th Streets.
The Sports Basement welcomes residents of the Potrero Hill neighborhood to take advantage of their free programs.
