Oh the agony waiting can be, especially for little ones looking forward to Halloween and trick-or-treat. ‘How many more days?’ They ask. Why not turn this anticipation into a fun learning experience? Here is a free printable Halloween trick-or-treat countdown calendar. Using this free printable countdown to Halloween and trick-or-treat calendar, children can mark the days themselves.
Family Fun (click here) has a free printable countdown to Halloween calendar craft project. The project requires you to print three separate pages:
Halloween Countdown Calendar page one (click here) This is the front page that will show. A cute, colorful haunted house that’s not too scary but full of fun little halloween creatures: ghosts, witches, black cat and a cute cartoon haunted house.
Halloween Countdown Calendar page two (click here) These are the doors and windows.
Halloween Countdown Calendar page three (click here) These are the messages that children can read (or have read to them) when they open the windows.
To assemble your Halloween Trick-Or-Treat Countdown calendar, cut out the messages from page three and the doors and windows from page two. The Halloween countdown calendar is a two week calendar, numbered from 19-31. Begin the Halloween calendar 13 days before trick-or-treat. Sort messages and match with corresponding window or door. Score (cut slits) along the dotted lines on the Countdown Calendar main page. This will hold the window in place until the child opens the window. Place message with picture behind each matching door or window. Tape along along folded edge of window or door opening. When child opens the window or door, she should see the message with the picture behind it.
Use the Halloween Countdown to trick-or-treat calendar to teach counting backwards, calendar activities, date and day coordination and marking time. This free printable activity makes a prefect preschool and elementary age craft and lesson. Use for homeschool and special needs children, too.
