I purchased a Fullbar Fit Chewy Brownie bar in Walgreen’s drugstore a couple of days ago. It was priced at $1.99, and I received the full amount back in a register coupon, to use in the store, on my next shopping trip.
The bar is delightfully packaged in a bright green wrapper. It looks bigger than the regular size bars, and the net weight is 1.76 ounce (50g).
It states on the wrapper that it is “Inspired by Weight-Loss Surgery Principles.” It contains 180 calories, 5 grams of fiber, 15 grams of protein, and is 100% natural.
This afternoon I had been swimming for 30 minutes, and then did an aerobics workout. I was getting hungry, but it was a little too early for dinner. I thought about my Chewy Brownie bar, as it looks really delicious on the packaging.
The bar measures 5 inches, by 1 inch, and three quarters of an inch in depth.
Upon looking at it, it looks as if it has a chocolate layer on the top, with a chocolate drizzle going across it. Then it has the layer of brownie, some chocolate chips, then the puffed rice, which may also have chocolate drizzled on it.
I took my first bite, and the top instead chocolate, it is the top of the brownie. The bar is chewy, and the brownie disappears quickly. You are left chewing the puffed rice. It is a little hard to swallow, but as I had been working out, I had a large glass of water to help in down.
My next bite was of just the top. The brownie certainly doesn’t compare with ones you make, or rich ones from bakeries, but it was okay. I pulled out one of the chocolate chips, and it certainly is a generic tasting chip. I finally tried the puffed rice, and again I needed another swig of water, to get it down my throat.
I have to say that this isn’t a great eating experience, and if I hadn’t have got it for free, and wanted to review it, I would probably have stopped there. I did finish the bar, and my 16 ounce glass of water.
This is what Fullbar Fit state about their product:
“Created by Dr. Michael A. Snyder, a leading weight-loss surgeon, befull solution products, including Fullbars and Fullbites, are all natural and delicious. Simply eat them with an 16-ounce glass of water or Aquafull for added fullness 30 minutes before your two biggest meals of the day.
By meal time, part of your stomach will be filled up. You’ll need less food at meal time to fill up, and your stomach will tell your brain “Stop! I’m full!” We use healthy products that will help you eat less of the foods you would normally indulge in. As a result, you are happier, eating the foods you want, just less of them. The line of befull solution products are aligned with weight-loss surgery principles. Try them, and we know you will agree that feeling full is the best way to lose weight.”
After I had finished the Fullbar Fit, I waited 30 minutes before eating my small side salad, and a little spaghetti, with 2 meatballs. I never eat a large meal, and prefer to eat 4 small meals a day. I didn’t eat any less than I would normally eat without this bar. Therefore I actually ate an extra 180 calories because of it.
On the back of the bar the nutrition facts for the bar are:
Calories from fat 35.
Total fat 4g
Saturated fat 1g
Sodium 170 mg
Total Carbohydrate 24g
All others are listed in the review. As far as the ingredients are concerned, they are written so small that I am unable to read them.
My own thoughts are that as long as I exercise, drink my 4 – 16 ounce glasses of water a day, and eat small healthy meals, I don’t need a product like this, and probably no one else does, unless they like bland, uninteresting healthy bars.
This product is Kosher, and contains no weight-loss stimulants.
