Schuester is not getting along with Sue as her co-director. The principal wants to hear how the Glee club is going and both Sue and Schuester lie, telling him it’s going smoothly. In Glee club, Schuester asks the kids if there’s something they would like in particular. Sue is trying to pit the kids against each other. The principal is surprised when Sue and Schuester tell him that they are both directing a number at regionals and will be flipping a coin to see who goes first. The principal insists that Sue and Schuester hug, and when they finally do, whisper threats to each other.
Quinn and Finn go to Quinn’s first ultrasound appointment. Quinn is nervous and looks anxious, just as Finn does. The doctor asks the couple if they have given any thought to what they will be doing once the baby is born, and Finn says “Whatever Quinn wants is fine.” The doctor then tells them that the baby is a girl. Finn leaves the room and returns to the waiting room where Schuester is, thanking Schuester for driving them there since he was “too freaked out” to drive. Finn starts showing some concern about how he’s going to be able to take care of a baby when he can’t even take care of a fish.
Rachel is approached by the school newspaper goon, who tells her that he’s got word that Quinn’s in trouble. Rachel immediately denies that it’s true, and the goon yells after her telling her she’s just jealous that Finn didn’t choose her to carry his child. Rachel asks him what it will take to get him to not run the story.
Sue wins a coin toss with a double headed coin and wants to divide up the club, making an “elite” Glee club. Surprisingly, she chooses a variety of kids, rather than just the cheerleaders and football platers, but rather all of the minority students.
Kendra is on the phone with Terri, telling her to make sure Quinn dosen’t get the vaccinations in the hospital because she thinks they made her kids stupid. Schuester grabs the phone telling Kendra bye and hangs up. Terri is upset with him for being rude to her sister. Schuester complains that he’s never felt the baby kick and he’s only ever been to the OB except when he took Quinn and Finn. He then tells her that he’s coming with her to the next appointment and Terri gets a look of terror in her face.
Finn asks Rachel how she got the newspaper goon to not print the story and she refused to tell him exactly how she got him to stop. The goon later approaches rachel making it apparent that he wants a pair of her worn panties and that she has until tomorrow morning to give them to him.
Sue is larding the minority group of Glee club and the group seems to be enjoying her leadership. After their rehearsal, Schuester confronts Sue about taking the room when it was supposed to be his time. Sue lets Schuester know she burned his sheet music and admits that she’s been trying to destroy him and his club.
At home, Schuester is grading papers, and Terri brings him a beer and tells him she’s been being a crummy wife and she’s sorry. She also tells him she may be able to help with his problems at school. Schuester rejects her offer, and she tells him that if he wants to beat Sue, then he needs to play in the gutter like Sue.
Sue shows up to cheerleading practice and is enraged to discover that some of her cheerleaders aren’t there due to academic ineligibility. She goes to the principal with Schuester, enraged that he flunked any of her cheerleaders, regardless of whether or not they deserved the grade recieved. The principal takes Schuester’s side, telling Sue she is wrong and Schuester is right. Sue tries to blackmail him by threatening to put an instructional video about embolisms in flight, but the principal surprises her by telling her that he put it on youtube himself and it only got two hits.
During a test, Finn passes Quinn a note with a baby name he liked; Drizzle. Because he loves how when it’s raining outside, it feels great but you don’t need an umbrella. Quinn gets upset and emotional, telling him he’s being insensitive by contemplating names when he knows she’s dosen’t want to, and can’t, keep the baby. Finn then tells Quinn he wishes that she was more like Rachel, and tells her that rachel gave the newspaper goon a pair of her underwear to keep him from posting on his blog about Quinn being pregnant. Quinn asks Finn if he really think that Rachel did that for her.
The Glee club has a secret meeting, doing a song together, and then talking about how Sue has forbidden the two groups from mingling with each other. Rachel tells him that she dosen’t like how things are going with the Glee club being divided. Schuester tells the kids he wishes it was different, but the decision isn’t up the him anymore. During the song “No Air,” where Finn and Rachel take the leads, it becomes quite apparent that Quinn is getting jealous of the connection between the two. At the end of the number, Quinn makes a few comments about Schuester not liking minorities, just as Sue instructed her to.
At home, Schuester nearly walks in on Terri without her pregnancy belly on. She quickly stuffs it under her shirt. Schuester tells her he has a surprise for her and tells her that he scheduled an appointment on Friday for Dr. Wu and excitedly smiled, “I’m finally going to get a look at my little boy!” Terri looks terrified.
Schuester confronts Sue about taking his singers from his part of the club. Sue offers to give them back if he passes her cheerleaders in Spanish. Schuester refuses and storms away.
Dr. Wu is visited by Kendra and Terri. Kendra starts blaming Dr. Wu for everything wrong with her two children, including their red hair, and intelligence. Kendra then tells Dr. Wu she’ll sue him, and even though she wouldn’t win, there’s only two obstetricians in the town, and even the slightest bad publicity would send patients to the other obstetrician. Dr. Wu looks stressed, and asks “What do you want?”
Rachel is confronted by Quinn. She tells Rachel she’s having Quinn’s baby and that she better back off. Rachel then tells that she knows Quinn is one of Sue’s spies, and Quinn denies it. Rachel tells her that once Sue finds out about Quin’s situation that she’ll tear up her uniform with her barehands. She also warns Quinn that everytime she tells Sue anything, it damages the Glee club and in the end, the Glee club will be all that Quinn has.
The two sides of the Glee club then present their performances to each other, with Schuester’s side performing first. Less than ten seconds into the number, Sue stands up, demanding that her group of students leave. Sue and Schuester then begin arguing in front of the Glee club, while the students stand by. Finn then stands up telling both of the teachers to stop arguing, and the entire club storms out of the auditorium.
Shuester then goes to the doctor appointment with his wife. Dr. Wu drapes a sheet above Terri’s abdomen, telling Schuester when he objects, that it’s standard procedure. Dr. Wu fakes the ultrasound while Schuester stands there in amazement, tears welling in his eyes. Wu then announces that he must have made a mistake in last ultrasound and that the baby is actually a girl. He tells his wife he’s just so happy about the baby.
Sue and Schuester apologize to each other, and steps down from co-chair position, telling Schuester that Glee club just isn’t her thing. Sue and Schuester go to the Glee club telling the kids that they are all minorities and it dosen’t matter that one is Latina, or that Finn can’t tell his right from his left. Schuester then continues with “Or that Quinn is..” and is cut off by Sue who finishes, “Pregnant.” Sue seems upset that Quinn hadn’t told her and leaves the room after telling her that everyone will know by the end of the afternoon.
The news goon ran the story of Quinn’s pregnancy after Sue found Rachel’s underwear in his locker and then demanded that he run the story. The goon seems apologetic, and Rachel finds Quinn crying, being consoled by Finn, feeling helpless to do anything.
The episode ends in a very emotional rendition of “Keep holding on,” with Quinn near tears at the end.
