GNOC is the hot search topic of the day. GNOC, however, has two very different definitions. If you spend enough time online, you know the first definition. If you don’t, skip down to the next paragraph. The second definition of GNOC has something to do with Russia and communications. If that definition intrigues you, check out the third paragraph. Either way, you’re about to learn what you need to know about both definitions for GNOC
GNOC for Mainstream Media
Cover your eyes, Harriet. Someone is about to Get Nude On Camera. Yup, that’s the first definition of GNOC. When GNOC came up as the number one search of the day, naturally, this is the one most people picked up on. Of course, that led everyone to wonder who was getting nude on camera. No doubt the resultant googling will keep this search term at the top for most of the day.
GNOC in the Russian Federation
Of course, the real reason GNOC is a top search term today has nothing to do with getting nude on camera. The real reason is that it stands for the Global Network Operations Center being opened in the Russian Federation. In other words, we’re talking outsourcing plus sophisticated training. The best of the best is what these networks are trying to accomplish. You can read more here.
The Lighter Side
On the lighter side, two things come to mind. One is that new series, “Outsourced” about a young guy sent to India to run a call center. Hilarious show, you must check it out! I’m also picturing, for some reason, a bunch of large jawed old Russian dudes, dressed in nothing but those furry Russian hats, seated row after row in a telemarketing center, going all GNOC on us. I realize my depiction of people of the Russian Federation is a bit off, but I can’t exactly control the pictures that pop up in my head. I just have these two conflicting definitions running around in my brain, which for some reason or another decided to converge in a very strange way.
On the Darker Side
Well, it’s hard for me to be dark. I’m a pretty positive person. I’m actually happy to see the Russian Federation presented with an opportunity like this. They need it, after years of standing in line for bathroom tissue and other necessities. On the other hand, it does mean more outsourcing. We all know what outsourcing has done to our own economy and workers here in America. Well, it is the land of the free. Perhaps we can all GNOC to make some money on the side. Not like it hasn’t been done before.
