During the trial, the life Grace’s mother was completely investigated. Louis Canning brought in a therapist that stated that Grace’s mother had jealousy issues and suspected that her husband had been cheating. He went on to say that Grace’s mother found a pair of Grace’s panties in her husband’s belongings.
Grace explained that her stepfather had a habit of stealing her underwear and she had told him to quit. But yes, her mother had accused her of tempting her stepfather. By this time, she had started taking the antidepressant and wasn’t acting like herself.
Catching a break with the case, Blake, the new investigator with the firm, found a piece of evidence about the therapist. The therapist had slept with one of his patients. When this piece of evidence was shared in court, Louis Canning was ready to settle the suit.
Back at the campaign headquarters, the Florrick camp discovered that their rival Wendy Carr had breast implants. They made sure their leak found out about this information and then waited to see what happened. Soon a video is all over the internet criticizing Wendy for wasting money on breast implants when she drones on and on about helping the poor. Then it is discovered that Wendy had Stage II Breast Cancer and the breast implants were due to a mastectomy. The manager of the opposing camp soon resign and the Florrick camp remain clean in the eyes of the public and in Grace’s eyes (the idealized daughter of the candidate, Alicia’s husband).
Finally, viewers have more of a reason to think that Kalinda may be a lesbian after Donna, played by Lili Taylor is introduced. Donna is a public defender and someone that Kalinda doesn’t want talking to Blake.
After the meeting at Donna’s office, they meet again at a club. Donna makes pointed remarks about Kalinda breaking her heart. Kalinda states that she isn’t domestic. They begin to draw closer to one another and Glenna states they could just have the night. Donna says that isn’t what she wants. They then kiss. Donna pulls away and walks away from Kalinda.
The firm members all gather at the club to celebrate their victory of wining the class action suit. Diana brags that Canning went for 35 million and she would have settled for 25 million. This gives the firm a payout of 7 million. They all are happy with their success.
Blake appears with Donna as his date. Alicia introduces herself to Donna. Kalinda isn’t happy at seeing her there.
Louis Canning shows up at the party. Alicia walks over to talk to him and finds out that the firm didn’t win as much as they thought. He tells her that he was hired to settle the case. The pharmaceutical company knew that they were looking at a 90 million dollar class action suite. He was hired to get the payout down to 50 million. Since he got it lower than that, he was going to receive 1.5 million dollars for his time, plus stock options.
