Serena and Blair are entertaining themselves in Paris where they’ve been all summer. Serena has been/still is dating bartenders and waiters while mulling over Nate and Dan. Blair is trying to get over Chuck but wants to date someone more pedigreed. While looking at a Manet painting a nice Parisian guy chats up Blair – en francais – and they agree to meet for dinner but as he’s leaving Blair hears that he’s a Grimaldi (Monaco royal) and gets excited. He says that her French accent is impeccable but we beg to differ. B insists that Serena accompany her to the restaurant but it turns out Serena’s date is the Grimaldi and Blair’s is only the driver. Serena, Serena, Serena – Blair gets pissed especially when she finds out from her mother that Serena will now also be going to Columbia University where they’ll also be competing. Blair confronts Serena and pushes her into a fountain. Serena goes back to the restaurant and says: “Blair happened,” and gets her date to walk her home. Blair and the driver are left there but since Blair has obviously been only interested in Grimaldi and not her date, he tells her that he’s the real Grimaldi and switched with his driver to see if Blair liked him for himself not his name. Blair tries to get out of it but it’s too late. S and B make up in their hotel room and Blair confesses she’s not over Chuck and is worried she hasn’t heard anything from him all summer.
Back in the E. 55th St. penthouse, Lily and Rufus are back from somewhere and are happy that Jenny is no longer wearing heavy eye make up. But thank GOD Jenny does not make an appearance. Lily meets up with Chuck’s something-or-other man who says that Chuck hasn’t made his Empire Hotel mortgage payments and needs to be found. Lily is also getting ready for her Fashion’s Night Out party.
Nate has been busy all summer going through Chuck’s black book full of women who don’t talk, are only good for sex but congregate to use Chuck’s credit card. At a restaurant he meets Juliet, Katie Cassidy’s new character, a sort of bland intellectual girl who reads! She disses him when he asks for his number. But they meet up again at Lily’s party because she volunteered for the event and Lily called Nate to help her find Chuck.
Meanwhile back in Brooklyn Dan is taking care of his new son Milo with Georgina. He hasn’t signed the birth certificate until he gets a paternity test. He also hasn’t told Vanessa or his dad about this, only Nate. Georgina is obviously up to something because she keeps answering the phone in Russian – with a much better accent than Blair’s French. Vanessa finds out and when Dan starts talking about episiotomies, Vanessa says: “I don’t want to hear about her Georg-ina,” HAha. Finally at Lily’s fashion party the truth comes out, Georgina shows Dan a paternity test saying he’s the father, and Dan signs the birth certificate. Back in DUMBO Dan and son Milo are sleeping. Georgina then leaves a note saying she’s at a spa but has her bags packed and passport in hand.
Serena gets a call from her mom asking her to go check out a body in a Paris morgue because it had Chuck’s identification on it.
There’s a flashback of Chuck’s smarmy life including buying Blair a ring, getting shot and left bleeding on a street. Then he wakes up in a Prague hotel room with a blond who’s been taking care of him all this time. He says he’s Henry. They take a train ride and get out at Paris’ Gare du Nord…
Nate calls up Juliet to talk and asks to meet for coffee. She gets up and the camera pans over to her computer that is open to the Gossip Girl website and up to a bulletin board with Nate and Serena pictures and strings connecting them.
Next episode: Chuck sees Blair in Paris
– Obviously Georgina did something to the paternity test to make it seem like Dan is the father. Is she after Lily’s money?
– Dan’s character is already the most boring, so having him be a new father will hopefully keep him away from any good story lines and he’ll just fade away. Rufus is second most boring character. Jenny is just blah, the less we see of her the better.
– Surprisingly Serena’s Parisian outfits weren’t as boobilicious as usual.
– Since when was Blair so jealous of Serena? That kind of came out of left field.
– Why are B and S still interested in reading about themselves on Gossip Girl? Isn’t that for high school students; which they haven’t been for a year??
