Bowling is a widely known past time that many enjoy taking part in. Whether it be for recreational purposes, or competing in leagues, bowling has become a way for people to come together and enjoy themselves. I myself have spent many afternoons with friends and family at the bowling alleys near me and enjoyed my time there. Here are three of my favorite local bowling alleys in my area of Central Florida that I would highly recommend.
7715 W Gulf To Lake Hwy
Crystal River, FL 34429-7929
This quaint little alley is perfect for an afternoon of fun with the family and friends. There is not a lack of activity here despite the fact that it might be somewhat smaller than the average bowling alley. The food counter is also something that everyone can enjoy, because all of the food is cooked fresh right when you order it. The menu ranges from hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, fries, chips and much more along with a variety of drinks that are all affordable prices.
What makes this alley so diverse for not only family outings, but for fun nights as well, is the vertiglow bowling that begins at around nine o’clock. That is where the traditional fluorescent lights are replaced with neon glow in the dark lights that illuminate the alley and lanes. There is also a small bar in the back corner, which makes this ideal for a safe and fun night out on the weekends.
Spanish Springs Lanes
997 Alverez Ave
Lady Lake, FL
This alley is not exactly local, it does take about thirty minutes to get to from where I live, however it is well worth the drive and still located in Central Florida. What I enjoy most about this bowling alley, is that it is themed in ancestral Spanish decorations and has an extremely family focused setting. Even on the weekend nights, the Spanish Springs Lanes is a great place to take the whole family without worrying about the environment being too risqué.
This alley is located next to a bar/restaurant where people can enjoy karaoke. They too have a menu with many food and drinks to choose from. But what keeps me coming back here is how affordable it is. They often have weekend deals starting after eight thirty where games are only five dollars.
Beverly Hills Bowl
3330 N Lecanto Hwy
Beverly Hills, FL 34465-3547
This bowling alley has been around for quite some time, and the environment is slow paced and casual, where as the other two alleys I’ve mentioned have been somewhat fast paced and modern. On the weekends there are often leagues that come to play, so getting a lane can be somewhat of a wait, but it’s worth it.
I really enjoy how comfortable the environment is, this alley gives a feel of a lazy afternoon where there is no hassle to hurry up and bowl so that someone else has a chance at your lane. It is less popular than some of the other alleys near me, but like I had mentioned, it is not as modern as some of the other ones in my area. None the less, there are still those moments where people just want to sit back and relax in a calming and slowed down environment, and this alley is perfect to do just that.
