Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers travel to the Meadowlands to take on theNew York Jets on Halloween, October 31st. The New York Jets are coming off of a bye week in this critical AFC versus NFC match up while the Green Bay Packers are coming down off an emotional win over the Minnesota Vikings and Brett Favre.
Green Bay Packers Offense vs New York Jets Defense
Aaron Rodgers offensive weapons are dwindling as the season approaches the halfway point. Ryan Grant the number one running back for the Green Bay Packers and their big and fast tight end Jermichael Finley are both sidelined for the season. Donald Driver and Greg Jennings will have to step up as the receivers along with Jordy Nelson. At running back Brandon Jackson has been hit or miss this season but when he is on his game he is tough to stop.
The New York Jets defense has been their strong suit all season but their pass defense has been allowing over 229 yards a game. The run defense is solid allowing only 90 yards a game but with Darrelle Revis suffering through hamstring issues all season they have been giving up the passing yardage. Corner play has been decent but Kyle Wilson and Antonio Cromartie have not played consistent game in and game out. The New York Jets defense gets the edge over the Green Bay Packers ailing offense.
New York Jets Offense vs Green Bay Packers Defense
Mark Sanchez in the passing game is not making anyone forget about Joe Namath for the New York Jets but he has been above average to start the 2010 NFL season. The reason it is not necessary for Sanchez to be s superstar under center is the New York Jets running game. Shonn Greene and LaDanian Tomlinson have created a strong one-two combo out of the back field and with them being well rested off a bye week they should be potent.
The Green Bay Packers defense is one of the most creative defenses in the NFL. Dom Capers knows how to create chaos but confusing the quarterback with multiple looks before the snap. Clay Mathews running around end to create pressure and Charles Woodson shutting down the passing lanes makes the Green Bay Packers defense one of the toughest to beat. The Green Bay Packers defense has a definite edge over the New York Jets offense.
