On Season 7 Episode 7 of the hit ABC show “Grey’s Anatomy,” this is what you missed. The show started out with Owen teaching all of the doctors a trauma certification. He yells out to them that there was a bus wreck and they all rush outside not realizing it is part of the exercise he has set up for them. As they get outside, they see dummy’s lying all over the ground that he has sat out for them work on to learn how to handle this kind of trauma.
They all end up getting rained on for hours while they wait on an imaginary helicopter that never comes to get the patients. By the end, April starts to lose her mind and ends up stealing an ambulance sitting there. Owen tells her that it is not part of the exercise, but she doesn’t care. She takes her patients to the ER and has them unloaded for treatment. Owen finally says that her team, which was the blue team, has won the exercise. She jumps up and down excited hugging Alex. I have never seen her act this competitive or go after something so much. It was nice to see a different side of her.
Christina ends up taking care of the patient who was in need of lungs by the name of Roy. His daughter finally shows up to see him right before his heart starts to crash. Teddy is on her way to pick up his lungs and Christina is forced to try and keep him alive until she gets back. She is not handling the situation well at all. Meredith tries to help her through it, but she just gets mad at her. She finally ends up yelling at her and telling her that it is her fault she feels this way. She says she would not have tried to fix anyone else’s husband during the shooting the way that she performed surgery on Derek.
At the end of the episode, you see that Callie and Arizona are getting ready to get on a plane to head to Africa to live and work. Callie has been upset the entire episode trying to convince herself that she wants to go along. They get into a fight in the airport and Arizona tells Callie she doesn’t want her to go with her. She ends up leaving her behind standing in the airport. They had a good relationship but things had been going south with them for awhile now.
A few other small things go on in this show. You see Lexie and Mark working side by side with a girl who wants to get butt implants. Bailey does an autopsy on a patient she lost and still can’t find the cause of death. Derek spends some time trying to write up an essay for his Alzheimer’s clinical but spends more time worrying about his wife than actually writing.
The show ends with everyone telling Christina want a great job she did today. She tells the chief she needs to talk to him. You finally see her telling Owen that she just quit her job. Christina has never been anything but a surgeon so it will be interesting to see where this part of the story leads her now.
