“Cupcake Corner” is another baking simulation game available on the Facebook social networking website. This game focuses on making cupcakes, donuts and other assorted desserts and pastries and was developed by OMGPop Games.
Cupcake Corner Gameplay Basics
When you begin playing Cupcake Corner, you start with a small bakery with two display counters, two ovens, $10,000 and one table and chair for customers. To bake an item, click on the oven to pull up your recipe book. Here you’ll see the recipes currently available to you-more recipes are available as you progress through the levels. After choosing the item you’d like to bake, you’ll see an indicator noting how long the item takes to cook. When the item is ready, click on it to put in on the counter. Once it’s on the counter, your customers may purchase the item.
Cupcake Corner Recipe & Cookbook Hints
Every recipe has its own designated topping color or design. However, you can modify the topping or icing with $1 Bake Dollars. Bake Dollars are special in-game currency you purchase using real money and allow you access to special features within the game.
Note the baking time for each item you plan to bake and make sure you’ll be around your computer when it finishes. Some items have very short baking time, while others have a long time. If you don’t take the item off the stove in time, it could spoil. To see how much longer an item baking in the oven has until it’s finishes, mouse-over the oven.
Each time you bake an item, the mastery bar increases. As you work towards the mastery, the item can earn you more money per serving when a customer purchases the baked good.
Cupcake Corner: Hiring Employees to Work in Your Bakery
Hiring employees to work in your bakery helps improve your productivity. These employees can work behind the counter and work the cash register, freeing you up to do the baking. (Note: You are always responsible for baking your goods in Cupcake Corner; your employees will not take items off the stove or bake recipes.)
There are two kinds of workers in Cupcake Corner: temp workers and employees. Temp workers are automated by the computer. You must pay the temp employees each day and they work very slow and tend to be on the lazy side. However, this is a good option if a lot of your friends don’t play Cupcake Corner or respond to your employee request.
Friends as employees in Cupcake Corner: This is the better option of the two, but you’ll need to recruit a Facebook friend who plays Cupcake Corner. You’ll need to send a note to your Facebook feed asking for employees. To do this, click on a temp worker and select “Request a friend.” If a friend responds to the request, he becomes your employee. You do not have to pay your friend to work for you, but your friend receives a daily bonus from Cupcake World (not out of your cash flow!) for working for you.
