When it comes to the holidays we all start thinking about a new look, or a great look. Probably your co-workers have seen you on a daily basis with your hair straight, short, in a ponytail, or just hanging around your face.
So when it comes to your holiday office party, it is the time to give your hair a ‘Wow’ factor. You can go to the hairdressers and pay a fortune to have it done but here are some suggestions that you can do yourself.
If your hair is long and all you do is wash it, and dry it, then borrow a friend’s hair straightener. If they have a Sedu or Solia one then you will be using a great product, and saving around $100. If you have to purchase one, then look for a brand name. Use it as directed, and you will emerge with superstar hair, instead of just average hair.
Another idea for long hair is to wash your hair, add gel to it, blow dry it, and then use a curling iron on it. Tease your whole head of hair, and then comb the top into curls, comb the sides to the back, pin the right side at the back, lift and twist the left side, and pin it into a French twist. Lift the curls on top with the tail of the comb. Lift the curls around the top of the French twist, pin, and then secure with hairspray.
If you have thin long hair, look for hair extensions, and then place then in with your hair.
For the younger ladies, leave a little of your hair at the sides of your face. Take the next section of your hair at the side and pin it on top. Do the same with the other side. Take the rest of the hair and put it in a high ponytail. Tease the ponytail, use hairspray on it, and smooth it slightly but don’t lose the volume. Tuck it underneath the hair, and pin it in place. Then take the sections that were pinned on top of your hair, tease them, and then spray well with hairspray. Let it dry. Carefully bring this back over the hair, smooth it out, and then tuck it, and pin it underneath. This will create an updo that looks as if you have volumes of hair.
If you have short hair, then washing it and adding clips, barrettes, bands, will give your hair a new lease on life. If your hair is normally straight then try curling it. If your hair is curly then using a straightener will give you a new party look.
Again if you are young and full of fun, you can use color in your hair for the Holiday Office Party. If you are way out, then you can use a fun color to liven up the party. If you are older, then use a color that will wash out after a few washes. You can also go with highlights. Just by adding 6 or 7 to your hair will create a new and exciting look.
Your hair should also reflect the holiday office party. If it is being held at the office, straight after work, then you will have very little time to do a makeover. Take a mirror with you, pins, grips, hairspray, teasing comb, curling iron, straightener, and anything else you might need. Show your co-workers that you can change your image with a quick updo.
If the party is being held at a restaurant, or a club, then choose a style that will look good with the shape of your face, and the outfit you are wearing. If time, and money allows then get a professional style by going to a hairdressers. Sometimes it is good to go to a new one that doesn’t know your old style. Allow them the freedom to create a new you for the Holiday.
