Everyone knows it’s a struggle to find the perfect decorations for Halloween. Some don’t want to be spooky, others have fear of not being scary enough. Believe it or not, there are many options for you to choose from to create the perfect Halloween night. No trouble for you this year!
Pumpkins and Jackolanterns- There are hundreds of ways to carve and design your pumpkins. You always want to choose the right size pumpkin for whatever it is you want to carve. For example, if you want a large design, find a big pumpkin and of course, if you want a small design, fancy yourself with a smaller pumpkin. Stencils are a great way to design your pumpkin without mistakes. Along with stencils, a large knife is necassary for the carvings. Once you have cut and designed your pumpkin, it can be set anywhere you would like. Inside, outside, front porch, back porch, anywhere. It only makes sense to set your pumpkin in a place people can see. You always want it to catch attention!
Skeletons- Skeletons are always the most popular Halloween decorations. Skeletons can come in all shapes and sizes. A skeleton can be hung from the ceiling, on the doors, or can even be used to scare someone. Depending on how you want to use it, all options are open. The cool thing about skeletons is you can decorate it anyway you want. If you or anyone in the family is very artsy, skeletons are the best decoration to show your skills. If plastic skeletons are baught there are tons of ways to use them. You can easily draw designs on them, paint them, and extract the limbs to give it a more eery look.
Bats- Plastic and rubber bats can be easily found in stores. But, did you know that you can make your very own bat decoration? It’s as simple as obtaining cheap supplies and a great imagination. The easiest way to make your own bat decorations is to use black trashbags and/or cardboard. Cut them into shapes of bats and paint them any color you’d like. Black and orange would be great colors to give it more of a Halloween feel.
Spiders and Webs- Spiders and webs can also be found in stores, but it’s just a matter of being creative with them. Spiders come in all sizes from big to small. Both are recommended for house and outside decorations. It’s a great idea to use the webs in doorways, on the walls, and on the floors. Put little spiders on the webs to give it a realistic look. The big spiders can be used as a trick, like putting it in a candy bowl or on the walls.
Candy Topiary- This decoration can be a little more tricky and pricey than your average decoration, but the money and the effort is worth it. The materials you will need are; foam cones, black spray paint, black and orange wrapped candy, hot-glue gun, and tweezers. First you will want to spray the cones black and let them dry. Then use the tweezers to dip one end of the wrapped candy into the hot-glue gun. After you have done that press the dipped side of the wrapper candy and press it onto the black cone. Do this repeatedly and give it a striped affect. There are other ways to do this and other ways to decorate your candy topiary.
Table Decorations- Let your guests know they aren’t the only ones sitting at the table! This spooky counterpiece will give your dinner table a spooky look. Arrange dark fruits on to a platter such as grapes, plums, and raisins. Then, put dark color candles in the middle of the arranged fruit. After that, set the platter in the middle of your dining room table and add insects of your choice. Only plastic insects, please!
This is a short preparation for Halloween night. Of course there are hundreds of other decorations to choose from.
