Set your DVR’s because Oprah is continuing her all-star packed 25th season with a major coupe next week. On November 8th, Oprah’s exclusive interview with Michael Jackson’s parents will air.
According to MTV, Katherine Jackson will sit down with the Queen of Talk to chat about her late King of Pop son. Jackson’s father, Joe, is also set to appear on the show, as are his children, Prince, Paris and Blanket.
This comes just two weeks after Oprah aired a lengthy interview with Jackson’s ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley, who divulged that she and MJ had barely spoken in his final years and yes- for the umpteenth time- their marriage was real.
Last month, Jackson’s brother Randy Jackson expressed he isn’t happy about his family’s “Oprah” interview. He took to Twitter to express his feelings on the matter, tweeting,” I know how Oprah feels about my brother and family…..I also know that he would not have wanted this…. in fact, she is the last person on earth he would want around his children……I can never forget when she had the show on pedophilia during the jury deliberation process in my brother’s santa maria case….that was no coincidence”
To add fuel to the fire, this Friday- just one episode before the Jackson interview is set to air- Oprah will air a show about child molestation, titled ” “200 Adult Men Who Were Molested Come Forward”. Couldn’t this have been the one week Oprah could have gone back to her off-the-cuff “Oprah’s Friday Live” format? Besides, I kinda miss Mark Consuelous!
Last October, Jackson bros Jackie and Tito appeared on “Oprah” to talk about the premiere of their brother’s posthumous documentary, This is It. And in April, Janet Jackson appeared on “Oprah” to promote her movie, Why Did I Get Married Too, and to discuss her brother’s death. No one in the Jackson family seemed upset over these interviews, perhaps because they weren’t conducted at the Jackson family home.
But Monday’s interview is a whole different ball game.
And while it may have been just a coincidence that Oprah aired a pedophilia show during Michael Jackson’s 2005 child molestation trial, it is no coincidence that she’s airing the Jackson family interview during November sweeps.
You can catch Oprah’s interview with Katherine and Joe Jackson on November 8, 2010 on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”.
