As Halloween approaches, one of the favorite activity amongst many are the scariest Haunted Houses. Here is a quick list of a handful of Haunted Houses in Utah.
Nightmare on 13th is located on 1300 South 300 West in Salt Lake City. It opens for 4 days in September, the 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th. Hours of Operation: Monday through Thursday 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 7:30 p.m. to Midnight, closed Sundays. Tickets: There is availability to purchase tickets online, as well as get a fast pass to avoid waiting in line. Admission price is $20.00 for each attraction: Nightmare Haunted House, Nightmare Theatre, and Xtreme Nightmare.
Castle of Chaos is located on 3300 South and West Temple in Salt Lake City. And their newest attraction Nightmare Mansion is located on 5576 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville.
Hours of Operation for Castle of Chaos: September 10th with the hours in September, Friday and Saturday 7:00 p.m. To Midnight and Starting October 1st Friday and Saturday 7 p.m. To Midnight, and Sunday to Thursday 7:00p to 10 p.m.
Hours of Operation for Nightmare Mansion: September 17th with the hours of operations being Monday through Thursday 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7:30 p.m. to Midnight, Closed Sundays.

Haunted Forest is located in American Fork on 500 East between 1000 South and 1100 South. Take Exit 276 in American Fork, turn towards Utah Lake and go a quarter mile. Hours of Operation: Weekdays 7:30 p.m. To 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturdays 7:30 p.m. to Midnight, Closed Sundays. Starting September 17th and 18th, 24th and 25th, and 30th. October 1st through 30th. Haunted Village at This is the Place Heritage Park located at 2601 East Sunnyside Aveunue in Salt Lake City. Hours of Operation: Starting October 8th through 30th, closed Sundays. Little Haunts at This is the Place Heritage Park located at 601 East Sunnyside Aveunue in Salt Lake City. Hours of Operation: October 14th to the 16th. This is during the day for little kids. Sleepy Millcreek Hollow located in Weber County. Directions: From I-15 in Weber County, head west off Exit 346 for 1.5 Miles. Watch for the signs, then turn left and drive for ¼ mile to reach 52 acres of wood, creek, marsh and meadow, located in the sleepy village of Marriot-Slaterville. Hours of Operation: Thursday through Saturday, October 7th to 30th from 5:00 p.m. To 10:00 p.m. Thursdays and 5:00 p.m. To 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission: Trail of Terror is $6 – proceeds to benefit Pack and Pounce Animal Rescue and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Northern Utah. Spooky Story Forge 7:30 p.m. Nightly, admission is $3.00 per person or $15 for up to six.
Asylum 49 Haunted Hospital is located on 140 East 200 south in Tooele. Hours of Operation: September 24th to October 30th – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7:00 p.m. To 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7:00 p.m. to Midnight, Closed Sunday’s and Monday’s. Prices: Adult Regular Pass $16.00, Adult STATT (aka fast pass) Pass $19.00, Kid Regular Pass $13.00, Kid STATT (aka fast pass) Pass $16.00 – $25.00 Tuesdays: Buy one $25.00 pass on a Tuesday and you will get in unliminted times every Tuesday. Recommendation: Adult 11 and older, Kids 10 and younger. Not recommended for small children.

Ghost Hunting at the “Old Tooele Hosptial” – Public Ghost Hunts start January 2011. Price is $20.00 per person/18 years and older – You must pre pay and you will be given a specific time to be there. Bring your own equipment or use theirs. A Tour will be given first and then you will be allowed to walk around the hospital at your own discretion. Private Paranormal Investigations at the “Old Tooele Hosptial” Asylum 49 Haunted Hospital – On private investigations there are two different options. Professional groups who want to investigate on your own with staff available for help or questions or if you are not so experienced and would like a more private paranormal investigation with the tour they can do that as well. For cost and availability email Rebecca@asylum49. Their private ghost hunts are $240 up to 8 people and $30.00 per person after the party of eight. If you have a group of 20 or more, the private ghost hunt will be $20.00 per person. Payment is due at time of reservation. There are no age limits on the private ghost hunts.
Basic Ghost Hunting and Paranormal Classes at the “Old Tooele Hosptial” – This is a six week course, and will end with a full blown ghost hunt. Their next classes start January 2011. The cost is $75.00 per person and you must RSVP at Rebecca@asylum49. Pre payment is required via credit card or money order at time of reservation. Space is limited.
Other general information regarding the above ghost hunts: Gift Certificates are available. You must be 18 years or older. All sales are final. No refunds. You must RSVP as there are limited spaces for each ghost hunt. If you do not RSVP you may be turned away. If you need to cancel, do so immediately to open up space for others. If you show up without reserving and they have reserved spots that do not show up, it will be first come first serve to fill those spots. Ghost huntings is available from January through June.
