Fall is my favorite season of the year. Not only does it mean that the hot, sweltering days of summer are over, but there are many exciting things that happen in the Fall.
Fall marks the beginning of the fashion year, with fashion week in September. It also starts a new harvest season, and television shows that ended for the summer begin again. Amid all this excitement comes Halloween in October, which by itself brings exciting activities, then Thanksgiving in November. Fall brings with it all sorts of unique activities and events for you to enjoy.
One fun thing that you can do in the Fall that you can’t do in other seasons is go apple or pumpkin picking. Many farms open up to the public for this purpose. Often times, these farms offer more then just apple picking. There are also hayrides, corn mazes, and animals, among other things. Refreshments are abundant, including apple cider, candy apples, and all kinds of fresh pies. Many towns also host Fall festivals, which can range from traditional apple and farm festivals, to having all different kinds of craft and food vendors.
If you’re a sports fan, Fall is an exciting time for you. Football season begins in September, and every Sunday and Monday there are televised games. Along with this comes discount specials at some chain restaurants, like the 25 cent wings special at Applebee’s, which is good for sports and non sports fans alike.
Once October starts, the anticipation of Halloween brings even more fun activities. Haunted houses are a must do, and for those of you dressing up, Halloween costume stores pop up everywhere. It’s always fun to see the decorations and costumes that are being sold in stores. Then Halloween arrives, and the fun continues, with parties, trick or treaters, and lots of candy.
Summer might be over, but fun is just beginning when Fall rolls around. With all of these fun and exciting things going on, what’s not to love about the Fall?
