Join your fellow Brooklyn Heights Neighbors on any, each, or all Tuesdays from now (November 9th) through December 14 to make the neighborhood beautiful!
Well, more beautiful anyways. In the Spring when the flowers actually bloom.
Brooklyn Heights Blog relayed a request from Brooklyn Heights Promenade gardener Jonathan Landsman for volunteers to help plant bulbs in the Promenade flower beds.
From 9:30 till noon, scores of your fellow Brooklyn Heights neighbors will be digging, planting, gardening and “other small projects.” Jonathan says anybody can help, from teenagers to octogenarians, so even if you are 13 or only eat food with 8 sides (thats what we’re guessing an “octogenarian” is, but we’re really not sure), you have no excuse as far as Jonathan is concerned.
But seriously, it’s fun for everybody.
If helping to beautify your neighborhood isn’t quite enough to motivate you, Jonathan also promises coffee, chatting, and a “short lesson on something plant related” after the work is done.
And if that isn’t enough for you, Jonathan even makes a pitch to singles: “Flirting over coffee for singles? I don’t see why not!”
So come dressed for some dirty work, education, and coffee flirting.
Although we’re having a tough time imagining what outfit would be most appropriate for this strange combination of activities.
