I know you’re on the verge of panicking right now, with one or more kids scrubbing at their eyes and tummies, and so lets get to the point.
Got Chamomile tea? Got ginger powder? Got water? Got baking soda? If so, you’re in luck. Brew up some chamomile tea. It’s sooth their stomachs and put them to sleep. Mix a pinch of ginger powder in warm water, and let them sip at it. A teaspoon of baking soda in warm water will taste gross, but if they’re in pain, they might just drink it. If all else fails, try room temperature water. It’s get things moving and get the candy out quicker.
Now for those who want to be prepared:
Feed your kids well before they can fill themselves with treats. A full tummy will not be so apt to guzzle down the sweets. Ginger ale is a great choice. Make it Schweppes as it is dry and has plenty of ginger to sooth tummies. Flat coca cola does the trick sometimes, but only give a little at a time. Make it a single treat night. Pick their favorite candies out, and let them have some, but not all of them. If necessary, bargain with them that you’ll save some for tomorrow. Offer payment for candies they don’t like. (Then toss them!) Try bargaining for some candy with stickers – always a good choice! Above all, be happy and be safe!
